Souk and quiet and relaxing sweet alley - An exotic stop. Happiness after Marrakech. It deserves to be restored. The souk is very nice. You don't get the salesmen to dock. A saint Malo with soft and peaceful colors. A day’s visit to the souk followed the next day by a quad bike excursion is enough but much needed to escape from Marrakech very overrated.

heart of the city of Essaouira - The medina in the heart of the city of Essaouira is a real jewel that combines authenticity and beauty. There are traditional craftsmen offering authentic Moroccan products, magnificent bazaars and a qissaria dedicated to jewelry. In addition to that, there are places specialized in selling high quality spices, not to mention the fish market that gives the medina a unique atmosphere. Honestly, the medina is the heart and soul of Essaouira, and it is one of the most beautiful places to visit and explore.

Under a cloud of gulls. - Essaouira is certainly one of the quietest towns in Maro. What a pleasure to stay and wander in the medina and the Souk for the pleasure of the eyes.... the traders are discreet and friendly but the must remain the port and the daily discharge of boats. What a pleasure under a cloud of gulls, to buy shellfish and seafood and grill them at barbecues to enjoy them on site. in the evening the city falls asleep peacefully for the happiness of all.

A lovely little place on the Atlantic - During our 8 day holiday in Marrakech we decided to move and listen to the Recommendation of some guys who had done various tours and who among the different places visited recommended Essouria. So we decided to spend 3 days in what we discovered a small but authentic and delightful resort. We arrived by Sopratour bus from Marrakech (trip lasting 3 hours, cost about 20 euros per person, round trip). The bus arrives in front of the entrance door of the medina, while to get to the bus station from the medina of Marrakech we took the taxi. We catapulted into this place that surprised us, giving us views and intense sensations, coming from days of chaotic and more touristic Marrakech (which of course we recommend to see). Here the time is much more relaxed, to see the city just one day but it was beautiful to get lost in the quiet but lively alleys at the same time, where tradition and modernity are in balance, and meet the locals, all available to dialogue, to help, to chat. Shopkeepers invite you to enter in a sweeter way than in marrakech, and if you do not buy they thank you anyway, for coming in and having a chat. Here you hardly negotiate the price, because they tell you that it is a 'fair price' and not a price for tourists. The colors and music are everywhere and there is uma good food with great fish, even at good price .. The sunset from the rampart, with the sun setting in the ocean is an unforgettable experience, with a strong wind that makes your hair flutter (and the sand if you are at the beach!). Recommendation to bring a heavy sweatshirt and a jacket for the evening, because it is very windy (we were there the first week of October). We recommend a break in this place, cheerful, colorful, delicate, relaxed, where people are welcoming and you breathe sea air

Nice discovery - How nice it is to stroll in this clean and quiet medina. You can take the time to look at the different stalls without getting docked at the slightest glance.

Charming and Relaxed Medina - Our visit to the Medina in Essaouira was a delightful experience. Unlike some of the larger and more hectic medinas we encountered, this one was very laid back and chill. Its relaxed atmosphere made it a pleasant and stress-free place to explore. Located on an old fortress on the water, the Medina offers a unique and picturesque setting. The blend of historic architecture and coastal views adds to its charm. Despite being one of the smaller medinas we visited on this trip, it was filled with lots of restaurants and shopping options. We enjoyed leisurely strolls through the narrow streets, discovering unique shops and sampling delicious local cuisine at the various eateries. The fish market was a highlight, offering fresh seafood and a lively atmosphere.

Simply magnificent - Visiting the Medina of Essaouira with 2 young children, we took a guide for 400 MAD or around €40 for more than 5 hours. He gave us a cultural tour of the breathtaking medina, full of richness and at the same time fun for children. He even negotiated in certain businesses... The place itself is magnificent and full of history interweaving different cultural and historical inspirations. The population is very friendly, you are not forced to consume or buy. You can walk there in complete safety even at nightfall without any fear. There are no crowds of tourists either. We breathe the authenticity of real Morocco. A must do...

Very nice – clean and almost no mopeds - We liked this medina the best next to Fez. It doesn't have the somewhat morbid charm of Fes, but has just been beautifully renovated by UNESCO. The number of mopeds is minimal and their driving behavior is much more considerate than in Marrakesh. Especially when you consider that mopeds are theoretically banned in the Medina - here and there.
