Five Valleys, One Memorable Tour - We had a flawless experience, thanks to our charismatic and informative guide, Ismail. He is a true gentleman, who I feel truly cares for his group and you can tell he has immense pride for his country. From the outset, Ismail made the atmosphere in our group of 6 feel positive and exciting for our journey ahead, as we visited 5 valleys, stopping for sublime views of the Atlas Mountain Range. As one of our group said, ‘…he is an encyclopaedia of knowledge’. We were all very impressed. At our first stop we were welcomed by Fatima and Lama, who served us a breakfast of homemade bread, local honey, argon oil and nut butter, with a bottomless cup of tea! We also saw how the women made argon oil, hand grinding it with their mills, alongside many other natural cosmetics. Simo/Mohamed was our hiking guide through Izmir, helping us navigate the terrain of his beloved village. At only 22 years old, he was very helpful and a great advocate for his people. Khadija and her fellow Berbers welcomed us into her home, cooking a three course meal for all of us; including soup, salad, chicken tagine, cous cous with vegetables and fresh fruit to finish, alongside some mint tea.

Lovely day in the... - Lovely day in the mountains with beautiful views. Mohammad is lovely and friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely coffee. Delicious home cooked lunch. The only not great thing for me was it involves a lot of driving. Bring candy for the children it will make you happy.

The best day, in the best country, with the best guide ;) - We had a great time! The rides with Ismaïl were fun and felt safe. The views where amazing. The walk up in the mountains was very doable and Mohammed guided us well. If you want to, you can bring some toys for the children in the mountains. I really recommend this experience since it’s very different from Marrakech itself!

Atlas Valley and Berber life - The trip was very well organised and our main guide - Mohamed - was excellent. The tour is unique because you see the Moroccan valleys and get a glimpse at local life. Also, Akram our hiking guide was very good and the Berber family who hosted our lunch were amazing. I would highly recommend this tour. Is worth it.

The tour and the guide were equally awesome! - Mohamed was AMAZING! I had read other reviews about him before our tour and we were blessed enough to have him as our tour guide. The reviews were true but don’t capture the full experience. Mohamed is knowledgeable, kind, patient, and has a great sense of humor. He knows many languages and is prepared to give his guests the best experience possible. The scenery was breathtaking. The Berber villages were incredible and the people are so kind too. The food was delicious. The day was well planned and we had a great time. Mohamed asked just as many questions of our group as we asked about the different cultures in Marrakech. Mohamed works very hard to make this trip enjoyable. I would have Mohamed be my tour guide everywhere I go if that was possible. If you book this trip, you won’t be disappointed.

A wonderful memorable experience - We had a great trip with our tour guide Mohamed. The highlight of the trip is getting to see the modern way of Berber life which we would otherwise have never experienced. The views are beautiful and we had the best food on this trip during our whole stay in Morocco.

Atlas Mountains: An awesome visit - This was a fantastic experience- educational and awe-inspiring- which I would highly recommend. The Atlas Mountains are stunning and very close to Marrakesh. Getting out into the countryside from the hustle and bustle of the Medina and the Global City-scape of Gueliz hugely enhanced our stay. We met at 8am and were home by 3pm. Mohamed our guide was knowledgeable about the geography, culture and language of his country. His energy and good-humour made the visit fun. The vehicle was safe and clean and the timings were accurate. Communication was excellent: we received text the day before about the collection. The highlight for me was the short visit to the Berber village and family. Mr Ali, our village guide gave us a fascinating tour: the villagers privileged us with seeing them at work and at rest. Ploughing, seed sowing, well-building, walking children to school, looking after the animals. We were welcomed into the home of Fatima and Fatiha, who prepared for us the best tagine I have ever eaten, savoured from their garden as we looked across the mountains. In comfortable weather and as a brief watcher, I have taken away a romantic idea of the lives of the Berber people, their language and culture, reliance on each other, the land and their animals. The idea of mutually-dependent community and sense of connection to nature resonates with what is felt as a lack in my own culture in UK. The reality of living in a small, isolated community reliant on a small community and the land is of course more complex. Mohamed and Ali showed love and respect for their Berber roots and had both found ways of also being in touch with the modern world. I was glad we had brought plenty of cash as we tipped those we met/ bought from the women's cooperative. I hope we did this appropriately as a way of saying thank you for a very memorable day.
