Our driver, Mr. Nic, was a fountain of knowledge, sharing fascinating tidbits about the local culture and landscape as we wound our way through the lush hills. The anticipation built with every turn, and soon we arrived at Yerette, the enchanting home of the hummingbird.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Gloria, who offered us light refreshments. The garden was a vibrant tapestry of colors, alive with the fluttering of countless hummingbirds. As a former professional surfer, I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature, but witnessing these tiny creatures up close was something truly special. As we made our way back to our hotel, Mr. Nic took us on a scenic tour of Port of Spain, where we picked up some fresh local produce to enjoy later.
