- Manzanita Beach - Manzanita is a stunning coastal city featuring seven miles of sandy shoreline and the third most photographed scenery in Oregon. Visitors can enjoy a breathtaking oceanfront walk or explore the charming downtown area. The pedestrian-friendly downtown boasts boutique shopping, several fine art galleries, and a bookstore offering a range of literature from classics to bestsellers and works by emerging authors.
- Neahkahnie Viewpoint - This peak is a captivating location where the Tillamook tribe believed their most powerful deity resided. The name Neahkahnie is derived from their words Ne (“place of”) and Ekahnie (“supreme deity”). From this vantage point, you can gaze south past Nehalem Bay to Cape Meares and Cape Lookout, nearly 30 miles away. With a vast ocean expanse before you, it is one of the coast’s premier whale-watching spots. The roadway, completed in 1941, was carved out of the mountain’s side and is supported by rock walls constructed mostly from the blasted material. The multiple highway turnouts are lined with low walls of this classic decorative masonry.
- Oswald West State Park - Spanning four miles of coastline within a dense, temperate rainforest, Oswald West State Park features a beautifully secluded sandy beach and miles of trails leading to stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. This expansive, scenic gem is undoubtedly one of Oregon’s most spectacular parks.
- Cannon Beach - This charming seaside village is easily walkable, allowing exploration of winding pathways, public art, and courtyards brimming with flowers. Renowned as one of the Northwest’s top art towns, Cannon Beach is filled with art galleries, specialty shops, cafes, and fine dining restaurants. Visitors can enjoy lunch at one of the town’s exceptional restaurants.
- Haystack Rock - Haystack Rock is one of Oregon’s most iconic landmarks, home to vibrant tidepools and diverse birdlife. It rises 235 feet from the shoreline’s edge. At low tide, visitors can walk right up to it and discover colorful sea stars and other intriguing tidepool creatures in its intertidal zone. Puffins can be seen on Haystack Rock from early spring to mid-summer, providing the most accessible viewing of Tufted Puffins in the Northwest.
- Ecola State Park - A visit to Cannon Beach is incomplete without exploring Ecola State Park, dramatically perched on the edge of Tillamook Head. Ecola Park Road winds through old-growth rainforest before revealing one of the Oregon Coast’s most renowned views, overlooking numerous rock formations and the capes and headlands miles to the south.
