A special place - Amazing place, we went when it wasn’t very busy so had the gardens to ourselves which were nice and peaceful with the best view I’ve ever seen - glasshouse mountains. The bird aviary was superb and the interactive experience was great! Would recommend a trip here. I loved it!

Great place to visit. - A lovely place. The gardens are beautiful and well cared for. The birds are a joy to visit. The staff are lovely. I have a disability which the staff were only too happy to help me with.
The ‘bird guide’ was lovely. He was informative and checked that everyone got to interact with the birds if they wanted to.
Yesterday was my second visit. I live in England so can’t visit as much as I would like.
Added bonus.. the waterfall made a lovely backdrop for some treasured family photographs.
Any complaints? None. Except for the goat who insisted on showing her behind when I was trying to take a selfie with her. 😉

I’ve told so many friends about this hidden gem of a destination! :) :) not to be missed!! - The happiest place on earth! The aviaries opened my eyes to seeing birds as animals we share the earth with; I knew nothing or cared nothing about avian life before visiting, but coming here put such a smile on my face and am amazingly appreciative of work done to help keep the planet a place we can pass down to future generations.
Great place to experience something different from the usual outings.

Unforgettable day at Maleny Bird World - What an awesome experience! Maleny Bird World was such a beautiful and memorable visit for us. My son absolutely loved it—he was so engaged, wide-eyed, and full of smiles the entire time. It was heartwarming to see how much joy the birds brought him.
This place is fantastic for all ages. The birds are stunning and friendly, and the opportunity to be up close with them made the day truly special. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the whole environment felt peaceful and inviting.
Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a unique, feel-good experience in nature!

Maleny Botanic Garden and Bird Aviary - How much we love this place. We have visited this place twice in the last 6 months. Once with friends and again now in March with overseas family visiting Australia. This Botanical Gardens and Bird Aviary is such a great place to go see and is for all ages. The gardens are just magnificent and well spaced out. We hired a buggy to get around as we had a family member who was not able to walk long distances but in saying that it is a great way to get around also as with our previous visit it was an extremely hot day and you have the shelter of the buggy. It costs around $60 for six people and we went around the gardens twice and could have done it a third time. You have approx an hour before you have to return the buggy to the designated area it was collected from. Then there is the birds!! Wow what can we say. There is an area outside of the main aviary where there is a staff member who can explain to you about the birds that are sitting on perches there interacting with the people. These birds can't fly for particular reasons, for example clipped wings or they have been hurt or lopsided wings etc... you can stand there and you will get a turn to have a bird put on your shoulders. There was one very clever bird that could sing parts of Old McDonald had a farm. He was hilarious. Our overseas guests thoroughly loved this chance to interact with the birds. I must point out though to be aware the birds do try to chew on your clothing and one was only on my cousins shoulder for a few minutes and it had chewed a small hole in it which was alittle disappointing.
After that we bought tickets which cost $45 per person to tour the main aviary and what a thrill that was. There are a number of cages you make your way through with the assistance of a tour guide, who explains to you about the birds in that particular cage and what to do and not do. We had birds flying all around us and landing on our heads and shoulders. It was the highlight of the trip and once again something our guests had never experienced till now. The final cage had the Macaws... such magnificent huge birds. You had the opportunity for photos with a Macaw placed on your head and that too another amazing experience. This place is well worth visiting and i believe value for money. Can highly recommend, take your family for the day it will not disappoint

Much better than expected!! - We weren’t really sure what to expect but we were amazed at how lovely and extensive the gardens were with lots of pockets of lovely things to see!! The birds were amazing and very interactive, there were lots of sitting areas and gazebos where you could eat your picnic with views that were unbelievable!! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the golf buggies really help to make this a very relaxing day out. I highly recommend this beautiful place!!
