Finding the driver was a... - Finding the driver was a little difficult as you had to walk a distance but it was worth the walk and the long 30 minute drive. Small beach with a great view. Hostess was very friendly and served refreshments while you just relaxed. Was able to ride the kayak out to the reef and it was very private and we are the only ones there for a while. Perfect lazy day! Thank you!

Great, relaxing adventure - While we were not able to get into the water due to the algae we enjoy the place.
It was secluded, quiet, tranquil and very relaxing for our group of 4. There were only 3 others present.
Highly recommend if you prefer smaller crowds and seclusion.

Exclusive Beach Experience - Upon arriving at Xahuayxol Private Beach my friend and I were pleasantly surprised to find out we had the whole place to ourselves! Teresa took great care of us with fantastic food and a steady flow of drinks. The ceviche was incredible, so fresh! Tiga, her dog helped us feel more at home. The ride to and from was fun as well since the driver had beers for us. 😃

Not a tourist trap - Very professional and upfront
I had my day booked for tomorrow, Raul texted me to let me know that they had a massive amount of sea weed coming in yesterday and offered a full refund.
Many places would have charged you and not let you know. Thank you for being honest! Hopefully we can try again in the future.

Wonderful getaway to a quiet, private beach that we shared with just two or three other families. - From the pick up outside the port to the private beach and back well before all aboard, the service was great. The driver was prompt and made sure what time he needed to be back to take us back to the port. The service at the beach was attentive, but not intrusive. The food was delicious. It was a lovely beach escape.

By far the most relaxing experience! - This experience was the best thing we could have chosen for our day in Costa Maya. The drive there was off the beaten path so we just knew it would be spectacular, and it WAS! Teresa makes the freshest drinks, our cups were never empty! The food was amazing! The views were amazing! The whole vibe of this spot was perfect for a day of relaxing by the water. Lots of shade too! They had kayaks and snorkel gear, lots of photo oops, great service and seclusion. It was just fantastic!

Great staff - The beach is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. I did get a lot sand mite bites at this particular beach in the water. The food and drinks were great. One things to keep in mind the meet up spot for Trip Advisor and Viator is about one mile from where the ship is located and the beach is about 30 min. from meet up point.

It’s ok - Great trip the van was super clean and the beach was private.
Be ready to walk a long ways to get to them.
The lady that ran the beach and restaurant was awesome the food was great.
The worst apart was the water. It was not clear due to sea weed and the beach stink. I assume because of sea weed.
I’m not sure it was worth the price and I do not know if we would do it again

Don’t go - My sister & I got off cruise ship and walked through 2 gates with barbed wire & guards. Kept texting the contact until a taxi showed up. Drove us 35 minutes down a deserted road with no WiFi. When we arrived there was NOBODY around. Opened the taxi door mosquitos immediately started biting & the smell of rotting sargassum was awful. The water looked like coffee with 3 feet of sargassum to even get to the water. The lounge chairs were on the ground with paint chipping off them. Fear set in and luckily we were able to grab our taxi driver before he left! I’ll give it 1 star since the driver informed the company and Viator refunded us before we got back on the ship. Feeling grateful we weren’t the next story on dateline!!

Don’t be fooled by the photos. Bad excursion. - I should have listened to the negative review(s). But I went there w/ an open mind and was hoping what I read was inaccurate. But unfortunately, it was not. This place is off the beaten path. Took well over 30mins to get there. We traveled quite fast on mostly marginally paved roads. Saw my life flash before my eyes. My adult children were very uncomfortable w/ the speed our driver was driving. We pulled up to what looked like a shack in the middle of no where. A nasty dog was roaming around. The host greeted us and was very kind and sweet. She showed us to our table. The table and all around the sand was covered in ants. They were everywhere. There was seaweed all in the ocean. There was no where to even enter the water. There really was no beach to even lay out on. The property looked very unkept. My family & I felt extremely uncomfortable. The host brought us bottled water. We all looked at each other & told our private driver that we wanted to return back to our ship. We all got back in our very tiny car for 4 adults. Thank goodness none of us are overweight because we barely fit in the back seat. My husband sat in the front. We thankfully arrived safely back to the port. My husband tipped our driver quite nicely for his time taking us there & then turning right around and taking us immediately back to our ship. I’m not quite sure why Royal Caribbean goes to this port. Out of all the ports we have ever been to this was by far the worst one. It definitely needs to be updated. Which thankfully we were told by our captain that
Royal Caribbean will be redoing the Costa Maya port just like they are doing in Nassau and Cozumel. I have tried to recoup some of our money back, but unfortunately, we were denied.
I had hoped this would have been a better excursion but unfortunately it was not. :-(
