Our skilled chefs and team will provide entertainment with cooking tips and techniques. Guests will learn to make tortillas from scratch, including preparing the dough, using a tortilla press, and cooking them on a traditional Mexican comal. Additionally, the experience includes marinating pork, preparing salsas and guacamole, and enjoying them with freshly made tortilla chips, along with tequila tastings! (Please inform us if you prefer chicken breast, fish, or a vegetarian option!)

Cafe Jaguar is conveniently located just a five-minute taxi ride from the Costa Maya Cruise Ship port, right in the heart of the downtown beach club and shopping boardwalk area. Your return journey is also by taxi, allowing you to arrive early or linger afterward to explore the downtown beach and shopping area, using our Cafe as your home base. Enjoy complimentary beach access before or after your class.

Tequila!! - Most amazing staff! They are so fun even on a rainy day! And the mango margs are delicious! Flor & lisel are amazing! Spend your day here by the beach and they’ll take care of you!

Fun class! - Well worth it. A wonderful teacher, good food and a great experience. Very hands on, large selection of drinks and a small take home gift. If coming from a cruise ship, be aware that it takes about 30 minutes to walk from your ship through the port-side complex of shops, bars and restaurants to the taxi stand.

Great cooking class experience - If you are looking for a cooking class in Costa Maya, this is the one to do. Colleen, the owner of Cafe Jaguar is such a sweet lady and made sure we had a great time. The bartender and the ladies teaching the cooking class were all wonderful! It was fun to learn about culture and family while making traditional dishes. Food was great, but the experience was even better. It felt like we were invited to their home to experience making tortillas like they would do with their families. Don’t hesitate to do this if you are on a cruise. They are so accommodating, and we felt very safe.

Fun! fun! fun and DELICIOUS!!! - Hands down this was an amazing experience!! Flor , Claudia the amazing bartender Liz and Elvia were such a delight!!
This was a very easy to get place to from the cruise port!!
The cooking class was amazing next time we come we will definitely bring our kids!!!
Very safe, clean, and the beach is 10 steps away!!

Great Day in Costa Maya! - Such a fun experience! When with friends but would also be great for kids! We will definitely bring the kids next time. Was so fun and we learned a recipe something we can bring home with us. Flor, Claudia and Lis were AMAZING! highly recommend this class. Easy to get to from the cruise port, safe and super fun. Our ship left at 3:30 and made it back with plenty of time. It’s nice that it includes lunch!

A Vegetarian Dream Come TRUE!!! TOFU al Pastor!!! Incredible experience!! - I had such a great time at the Tacos al Pastor cooking class! I've been a vegetarian for the past 8 years and one of the few things that still tugs at me from time to time, is passing the Tacos al Pastor places here in Mexico. They were always my favorite. Well, when I saw this advertised, I jokingly sent a message asking about Tofu al Pastor..... well wouldn't you know, they responded with a big YES, COME ON!!! They hadn't made them before, and in the past I've been a bit of a one trick pony where TOFU is concerned, but I've been wanting to learn more. As it turned out, the cooking process was a bit different, needing to sautee it in a pan as opposed to the large comal in the main area, but it was smooth as silk! I was invited into the kitchen where the chef and I seasoned the tofu with the al Pastor flavors. While it was marinating I rejoined the group to make my guacamole and tortillas. All the while, sipping my delicious Mango Bubble Tea. When I took my first bite of my vegetarian Pastor, with my grilled pineapple & onion, I was in heaven!!! I cannot wait to return and find more ways to transform their otherwise meaty class, into a vegan/vegetarian delight!!! Thank you so so much for the wonderful experience!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! - We had such a fantastic time at Cafe Jaguars cooking class!! First, its a super welcoming, clean and lovely facility. The bathroom are also very well kept. it's just all around, a really nice spot. It's right on the malecon, easy to find and looks out at the gorgeous beach there. Now, the actual class: AWESOME :) The staff are so fun and friendly and there is no worry if, like me, your Spanish is terrible... they speak great English.
The instruction was easy to follow, laid back and really enjoyable - and the food we made? HOT DAMN! My taste buds died and went to heaven (and I made it myself???!!!) Its all food that will now go on a proper rotation in my dinner selections. I'm never buying store bought tortillas again lol
If you are looking for something besides the usual same old same for things to do while in port at Costa Maya, do yourself a favor and come see these guys - OH and have an Italian Soda while you are there (err maybe even throw some rum in it - bonus tip lol) I had them surprise me with whatever flavour they thought was best, it was like a strawberry blueberry I think... mmmm prepare for a big fat flavour punch that you'll be dreaming of for a long time!

So fun and delicious! - I am so happy that I went on this tour! I always wanted to learn how to make homemade authentic tacos. We also made tacos pastor which are my favorite! The staff was so friendly! I highly recommend this experience!
