The tour was great! Our... - The tour was great! Our guide Ismael was knowledgeable and engaging. The bus ride was smooth and comfortable. There was quite a bit of stair climbing, so keep that in mind if you plan to bring a stroller. Make note of the directions to the meeting point before you exit the ship.

Don't Miss Out on this Tour! - Fantastic experience. Ismael, our local guide, made the tour comfortable, entertaining, and memorable. The 1,500 year-old ruins are not retrofitted for mobility access, so be aware if that's a concern. This tour was our best-case scenario. Easy to book; good communication from CM tours; comfortable transport with cold water and A/C; an amazing guide; personal service; supporting a local business; and making a great memory.

Fantastic experience with amazing guide Ishmael! - What a cool experience to learn about the history and culture from Ishmael, who clearly took pride in his land and the people. He took such good care of us, providing snacks (locally made plantains) and beverages, and even helped us find an incredible beach after our tour, where we felt very well taken care of. Our guide knew more about the history than you could find in a book, and he so graciously shared his knowledge and love of history with us. I would recommend to anyone who wants to visit the beautiful Mayan temples! A special experience that we could not have created on our own.

Costa Maya Mexico, Mayan Ruins shore excursion - I was initially concerned by not picking a shipboard excursion and going with Trip Advisor to book one. After reading a couple of reviews, I took the chance. My wife and I and three teenage daughters loved it. This is the way to go! Much smaller group (12) and it was much more personal and saved almost half the price from the ship’s price. Zero regrets! Our guide and driver were excellent. A/C travel van, good English and we even stopped for a roadside snack at a local family’s stand for fruits. We had plenty of time to take pictures ask questions, go to the bathroom, shop inside the ruins location. The ruins location is very well kept and maintained, similar to a resort grounds upkeep. Octavio was our guide and did great and thorough tour. Talked about local animals and trees, Mayan culture, etc. We actually saw a Monkey and couple of Capybaras. The walk from the ship was a bit further than we expected (in the light rain 😆) not really marked. Just when you wonder if you’re going the right direction or if you’ve gone too far, there were a few cab drivers mingling and we asked them directions. They were helpful, we kept walking to the Mayan Ruins replica and our tour was on the back right side of that. Great tour, would do it again and felt very safe.

Fantastic Visit - Raphael was an amazing tour guide! The meet up point was easy to locate and the small group size was perfect. Tour was lovely and the history provided on the drive was great! 10/10!!

Very educational! Awesome... - Very educational! Awesome experience for us with the kids (6 and 9). Our guide Rafael was an excellent tour guide with lots of knowledge about the Mayan culture, the ruins, and the surrounding environment. It's evident that he takes pride in what he does, and taught us a lot while keeping it fun. It was hot and humid, but our driver, Himmel (sp?), took great care of us while providing beer/water/soda in a well air-conditioned van. He even stopped at a local stand and bought fresh pineapple for us all! He pointed out interesting things along the drive. Truly a great experience for our family! 10 out of 10!

Best Guide Ever - Our family of four greatly were impressed with our guides’s Chino knowledge of the ruins. He made the tour so relaxing and away from the tourists crowds and even helped us spot a monkey for pictures. We loved that we were a small group of ten. We were provided water and our driver even stopped on the way back for all of us to enjoy fresh pineapple slices. This was a unique and enjoyable time.

Chino was a fantastic... - Chino was a fantastic guide. Very kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely do this again. Make sure you look at the FAQ to find the meeting location. It’s a bit hard to get out of the port shopping area

Definitely a must see excursion! - We really enjoyed this experience! Our guide was very attentive to our needs. He stopped by a local fruit stand and bought pineapple for everyone. The ruins were very nice to see, even our five year enjoyed this experience.

The tour was informative.... - The tour was informative and mostly as described. Our guide Raphael was very friendly. The only issue was we were originally told we would stop at a pineapple stand or go see a little beach area/shopping after the ruins, none of that happened. It would have also been nice to be given some information about the area along the drive.
