Unforgettable Costa Maya Adventure: Ruins, Relaxation, and Delicious Tacos! - We had an absolutely unforgettable day in Costa Maya with Ivan as our guide! Our adventure began with a fascinating visit to the Chacchoben Mayan ruins, where an official park guide shared captivating insights into the history and culture of the site. Next, we headed to the breathtaking Bacalar Lagoon for a serene pontoon boat ride. The crystal-clear waters were perfect for swimming, and the experience was made even more special when Ivan surprised us with a fresh pineapple he had picked up—it was such a thoughtful and delicious treat. To end the day on a high note, we enjoyed a light yet flavorful taco meal at Pappasito’s. This private tour exceeded all expectations, and our family can’t recommend it highly enough!

Enough time to experience both activities - This was a great way to do multiple activities for our first trip to Costa Maya. The ruins were interesting and 1.5 hours is more than enough time to see them without the teens getting bored. The boat was great, the lagoon was beautiful and the lunch that was provided was very tasty. Our guide was accommodating and seemed to really want us all to have a great time.

A+ excursion - Great excursion! Tour of the Chacchoben Ruins was informative and very interesting. The boat ride on Lake BACALAR lagoon was beautiful and interesting (learning about the cenote). We ate local pineapple and drinks were provided on the boat. Lunch at the local Mexican restaurant (located at the marina) was delicious. The van was clean and our guide, Isreal, was knowledgeable and very personable.

Nice tour - We were a family of five and the tour booked as a group tour became a private tour as we were just the 5 of us that day for the tour. Jhoana our guide was really nice and it was a pleasure to speak with here about Mexico. The driver was really a good driver too. He drove very carefully. For the Ruins we were almost the first to be there that day so it was uncrowded. Unfortunately we had heavy rain in Bacalar so it was not as good as It could have been under the sun (I'v been there already a few years ago on a sunny day and it was amazing) but that's nature, no right to complain. But the boat tour was shorter than expected because of the rain. We had a lunch in a typical local restaurant. The food was good but maybe not enough, specially for our boys (22,21 and 16 years old).Overall it was a good day, and Jhoana was a great guide. Even if the price is normal regarding others tour operators, I think it's quite expensive for what it is. That's my only complaint. But it will be a good day to remember.

Too much for one excursion - They tried to fit too much into this tour, so it all felt rushed. Part of that was because the booking wasn't clear about what time to meet outside the port, so we ended up later than they preferred. But even if we'd had another half hour for the tour, it just felt like there was too much squeezed into this excursion--and too much time on the road. The ruins were great, but we would've loved another 30-45 minutes there to see everything and learn a bit more. Then the lake--it's nice, but not amazing--feels like a fun place for locals to go enjoy a day at the lake, but not spectacular for tourism (plus when we were there the weather wasn't great). And because we were low on time, we ended up having our food in to-go containers, which we then ate on the bus, which wasn't great. If we were stopping at this port again in the future, we would find a tour that is ruins only, and then we would take our time and enjoy time in the port shopping area before re-boarding our ship.
