Will tell my friends - Not only was Leo knowledgeable and easy to talk to, he was an amazing amount of fun! 10/10 would recommend! Lunch was delicious and efficient, the ruins held a huge amount of history and fascination, and the pontoon ride to the lagoon and cenotes was absolutely beautiful. Thank you!

Wonderful experience all around! - We were well taken care of. Tour guide Leo was so knowledgeable and kind. This is a great tour operator-> they have their own vans, pontoon boat and life vests. Lunch was at a cute restaurant on the way back. They made sure that we got back to port in enough time to get back on our ship.

We booked this... - We booked this independently as a shore excursion during a cruise and after an amazing day in Roátan, I was afraid this would be a letdown. I couldn't have been more wrong. This was SO much fun!! Our guide Juan Corona was incredibly kind and his passion for regional and Mayan history is evident, especially during the ruins portion of the tour. The lagoon is absolutely breathtaking and they were so awesome about making my 9 year old niece feel included as the only kid on the tour (she got pineapple with Tajin instead of tequila shots at the lagoon and Coke with lime and in her words "bomb.com" snacks instead of beer on the boat). So many people on our cruise complained about the shore excursion they booked with Carnival at this port...do yourself a favor and support local tour operators who are committed to giving you a once in a lifetime experience.

Fabulous combo tour! - This was our favorite excursion. We were on a cruise ship but didn't take the Royal Carribean excursion--we booked this instead and I'm so glad we did. You have to exit the cruise terminal to find the tour company but they provide a helpful map. (It's about 2 blocks). After that--smooth sailing--literally. The Mayan ruins were great and we had enough time there to explore--so much better in a small group. The lagoon was so beautiful, and the pontoon captain and the tour guide and the driver were all amazing. Very conscientious about getting us back to our cruise ship on time. Highly recommend.

Jean Carona is the best tour guide! Amazing excursions!! - Juan Carona was a great driver and tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the myan pyramids. We arrived before the crowd and had the park to ourselves for great pictures. Then on to Baccular Lagoon for a boat ride and swim while eating amazing honey pinapple. Then a Mexican lunch and back in plenty of time before the ship departure. Amazing trip! Highly recommend, especially if Juan is your personal your guide and we lived our private tour experience!!!!

Great way to see 2 attractions in Costa Maya - This was a very informative tour of the Mayan cities. Our guide was well informed, and the tour of Lake bacalar was pleasant. Only issue was the time of year. While it was perfect weather for touring the temple, not to hot or wet, the lake was very murky. Apparently it's only clear from March until fall. Good so was not bad for the tacos. Just be ready for a lot of travel time. 45 minutes from the cruise port to the temples, 45 more to the lake, and 1.5 hours back again.
