Great day tour! - This tour will almost certainly be my favorite thing I’ve done in Thailand. The guide and driver, both women, were amazing! Both spoke great English and were very knowledgeable about the gibbons and as well as village culture. We were lucky enough to see the gibbons which was spectacular. The tour company worked with us to be dropped off in Kampong Village at our hotel (which I totally recommend, we haven’t seen any other westerners here since 3:00 pm) and held our luggage in their van during the tour. Very worthwhile!

Amazing day - One of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. Amazing tourguide, friendly people and beautiful scenery. What an honour it was to be seeing these gibbons in their natural habitat. An amazing day and a must do activity when you're visiting Chiand Mai.

MaeKampong trekking - It was such an amazing tour! Both the local guide and the leader guide (TK) were wonderful, knowledgeable about plants, flowers, and various herbs. I learned so much from both of them, even though I couldn't remember everything haha The people in the village were also so friendly and greeted us along the way, Our group was incredibly lucky to spot a gibbon in the morning—it was such a fantastic experience !!! I highly recommended this tour !!!!

Book this tour ASAP - YOU MUST BOOK IT!
This tour is a once in a lifetime experience.
If you love nature, good food, Studio Ghibli and gibbons, this is your tour!
We got so lucky to get TK as our tour guide. Her personality is very bubbly and cute. She answered all of our silly questions and helped me with a bug bite by putting some gel on.
The trekking was very scenic and with the local guide super informative. We touched, smelled and tasted everything that we could and allowed during the trip.
Due to a funeral, our schedule needed to be amended, so we had an early lunch at a café on the top of the mountain with a breathtaking view. A drink and a dish included, and you won't be disappointed. Very delicious drinks and food will await.
The waterfall route was a bit hectic, going up and down but it totally worth it.
After going through the village during our free time, we headed to see the gibbons.
There was no sightings of them so far, but we were very hopeful.
We spent a lot of time waiting and trekking thriught the jungle without a luck. After waiting another 20 minutes, we headed back to our van.
After 8 minutes of walking, we got a call that the pair came to their spot. We rushed back to the place to catch a glimpse of them, and there they were. We stayed there for quite a while to follow them a bit, and watching them from a safe distance. It's an core memory now!
We got very, very lucky to see them, especially at the very last minute.
I hope that whoever ends up on this tour, will get to see them and have this memory locked as well.
As mentioned, don't hesitate to book this tour! Oh, and if you can, ask for TK.

Great experience, beautiful area, really well run - I really enjoyed this tour. I was a bit hesitant given the cost, but I feel it was well worth it. The entire experience was very professionally organized and run. Our guide, Suwanus, was so lovely - so sweet & friendly, a wealth of local knowledge, patient, and clearly loves what she is doing. Eco Tours, the company running the trip, is making a great contribution to the local community and helping to preserve a gorgeous unspoiled forest.
Our group had only six people, which was an ideal size. Pickup was so easy, ride was comfortable and quick. Drink for coffee break & full lunch were included at local restaurants - both were scenic with delicious choices.
We were lucky enough to see not one but two gibbons, and it was such a wonderful treat to see them swinging through the canopy and watching us. I recommend binoculars as they spend most of their time quite high up, though we were able to get some good photos when they came down lower for a bit. The local caretaker is clearly very dedicated to his role and seems like a real lover of nature and the wild animals he is looking after.
Obviously I would highly recommend this trip! Definitely follow their advice about good hiking shoes, bug spray, & fitness level.

Brilliant day and guide, must do! - What an amazing day! Only 4 of us on tour which was great. Guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable about area, flona/forward and of course the Gibbons. Lovely walks around village and up to waterfall, which was beautiful but the Gibbons were worth the price alone. Truly privileged to see them and share their space. Caretaker was amazing and called to Gibbons and they responded. Could not fault it at all. Go on this tour and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks! - Thank you for the wonderful trip, the opportunity to see gibbons in their natural habitat, and all the valuable information shared about the local plants. The photos were amazing! The coffee made on-site from local beans was delicious, and the service throughout the tour was top-notch. The transportation from the hotel was punctual as well. I'm sending you a big hug and heartfelt thanks for making the world a better place.
Hugs,
Kamil and Karolina

Did not meet expectations - It was very boring, didn’t really see much of the market place (less than 10min) bcuz she had us running to catch the gibbons( before that she told us she wasn’t sure if we’d see them) food was blah I wish we got to see the parts that it was famous for. I guess it’s more of a simple nature walk with one gibbon they have to feed. It’s so expensive for what we got
