Fantastic tour - We had a fantastic day out with Luis, he arrived promptly and was very friendly. He was very responsive and accommodating when we changed from PR 6 to PR 6.1 at the last minute due to the age of our children. He waited very patiently for us and we had a relaxing hike knowing someone would be there to take us back to our hotel. He was very knowledgeable and offered to show us more sights on the way home.

Self guided tour, you are... - Self guided tour, you are given roughly 3.5 hours to explore the area. The walks are easy to follow and well sign posted.

Incredible hike, with first class travel - Beautiful, stunning levada walk that culminates in a spot of breathtaking natural beauty.
Luis was an excellent driver, who got us safely and comfortably to the walk. He was a font of local knowledge, and kindly took us up the mountain on a weekend where most of the main roads were closed for a rally event.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

100% recommend - The 25 fountains walk was absolutely brilliant. The guide Luis was very knowledgeable and has a great personality! He knew lots of facts about the Levada’s and the history as well as being able to give us tons of information about Madeira as a whole. His English was fantastic and he got on board with all our jokes and chats which was great.
This walk itself has quite a few steps, probably around 400 which are quite steep. It isn’t a hard walk but the way back up can be quite tiring - however there is the option to get in a mini bus up the hill, but this doesn’t avoid the steps.
The views overall are amazing, Luis took us at the start of the day where the sky was clear, it was slightly cooler and it wasn’t busy at all. Most tourists come later in the day and it can be a bit of a squeeze passing on the steps. The actual fountain is very beautiful and we had a quick dip in the water, it was so so cold but defiantly worth it for a photo! Luis was more than happy to take any photos and pointed out the best spots to have them.
I would 100% book with our guide Madeira again.

Wonderfull hike and a good workout :) - The 5 km hike is wonderfull. You'll definetely feel your legs due to the altitude of 800 meters. Parking is a disaster or you have to go very early and skip breakfast at the hotel. The distance from the parking place to the start/ending point is 2 km (with altitude difference) and even longer when you're not able to park on the road either. But there is a shuttlebus (single trip 5 euro's). You also need 50 cents for the public toilets. At Rabacal house you can get some coffee. It's a lovely place but I think they didn't have enough personnel to serve the clients.

Very nice but very crowded. - The hike is nice. Towards the end it became full but you could still enjoy it very well! I give here 4/5 stars because I think there are also more beautiful ones on Madeira like the PR9. And which is already more exhausting here.

Over priced wrongly advertised taxi - This trip was literally just a yellow taxi that picked us up and dropped us off. There was no guide, no information about the waterfall walk, no direct, no map given. The driver barely spoke, only to confirm that we would have four hours. Don’t fall for this ‘guided tour with a local’. It’s the complete opposite as to what is advertised.
