A massive must do while in Madeira! - This was a great experience! We went by this crazy amazing car through a lot of places in Madeira island. The views were taken out of Heaven and the trip was very rich. Our guide was amazing, super funny and had an overwhelming knowledge of Madeira’s history, answering all our questions and explaining a lot of facts and curiosities. I was alone at the time but the we were a total of 6. People were really friendly and welcoming. This is definitely a must do! Truly amazing!

A great day Exploring the Mountains ! - José was our driver/guide. He was knowledgable, friendly, funny and a skilled driver. The whole experience was great. Driving through the wooded off-road tracks and stopping at amazing vantage points to view the landscape. We 3 separate pairs unknown to each other initially plus José soon felt very relaxed, and we enjoyed a nice lunch together in Santana. It was a fun day I would recommend. Only suggestion perhaps take a layer of clothing because the high points can be a lot colder if you’re used to the weather by the south side coast.

A day to never forget - The tour guide José is the best guide I ever had so far, showing you the most beautiful parts of madeira and explaining with a smile and some funny jokes here and there, making this day an experience to never forget. 10/10 would reccomend

Knowledgeable friendly tour guide - Our guide was really knowledgeable and engaging and carefully planned the day to get the most out of our time (checking we were okay to return late). It didn't feel like we were just being driven to a series of photo opportunities like some tours can. The scenery was stunning and more verdant than the south - a good comparison with the North Western tour we'd done before.

Absolute recommendation! - The tour was a lot of fun - especially the offroad passages. Our guide was very friendly and provided us with information about the island all the time. We would recommend the tour at any time. You can see much of the eastern part of the island in a short time. The only small minus was the food in the proposed restaurant. The meat skewers were still raw on one side (I usually like to eat meat medium rare).

Excellent trip with an excellent guide – highly recommended. - Our guide Jose was engaging from the moment he collected us from our hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. He made sure that we were all introduced to each other and used everyone's first names. He also made sure that every one of us got what we wanted from the tour – not easy when people want different things! He joked about his driving, but his skill and ability were evident on some of the off-road sections – particularly when he had us all standing up. There were plenty of stops and photo opportunities and Jose explained a lot about the ecology and the history of the island. The highlight for us was the trip to the top of Pico do Arieiro, above the clouds. It was other-wordly. A very long day (some of the photo stops in lay-bys could have been cut to 5 mins, rather than 20!) but absolutely worth it.

Jose was tour guide extraordinaire! - We booked this tour as the hotel recommended them to us and previous Tripadvisor reviews seemed very good. Jose was our guide and he was excellent - so much fun and informative too. It was a long day but totally worth it. I would definitely recommend. It’s a good way to orientate yourself around the eastern side of the island and if you don’t have much time then at least you get a good idea of what that area has to offer. Jose made the day though 😁
