- Vinh Trang Temple - Departing at 8:00 AM from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel, you’ll head to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. During the 1.5-hour drive, you’ll pass by lush green rice fields before reaching the picturesque rural area of My Tho. Along the way, you’ll visit Vinh Trang pagoda, the largest pagoda in the Mekong Delta. The journey then continues to My Tho.
- My Tho - In the charming rural area of My Tho, your morning trip continues with a motorized boat ride on the Tien River to Qui (Tortoise islet). Along the way, you’ll see the fishing port, boat-building workshops, and the Dragon, Phoenix, and Unicorn Islets. You’ll walk into the village to visit a local fruit garden, enjoy tropical fruits, and listen to Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by islanders. You can also participate in the daily activities of the local people and soak in the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside.
Visit the bee house and take pictures of the pythons. Lunch will be served in the heart of the orchard garden. The boat cruise will then take you through Bao Dinh canal, entering Ben Tre province.
- Ben Tre - Upon entering Ben Tre province, known as “the land of coconuts,” you’ll see a typical agricultural model called “Garden – Pond – Cage” before visiting a coconut candy-making shop. Next, enjoy a rowing boat trip on a small canal, shaded by water coconut trees. After your boat ride, take an electric car around the island before returning to the bus.
You’ll arrive back in Ho Chi Minh City at around 4:30 to 5:00 PM.

Great value, great fun, great guide. - The whole day was a series of enjoyable experiences guided and commentated expertly by our tour leader Nguyen Bac, from pick-up on time at our hotel to drop-off at the same point. The tour exceeded expectations and was very good value for money. The day was relaxing, interesting and informative. I would certainly recommend this tour and this particular guide and would probably repeat the tour on a future trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Unmissable, despite being a tour in English, the guide did not speak Spanish, he made sure that we understood as much as possible - Very entertaining and educational tour with everything included, knowing the tunnels, places where they make crafts, chocolate, coconut calugas, wine and many other things, plus a delicious typical lunch, to end with a walk along the river and then by canoe.

Loved the vareity of experiences on this tour! - Wonderful tour with so many unique touches, adventure, entertainment and local cuisine! Hannah was the best guide ever and so fun and knowledgeable! Great experience all around and very highly reccomend it!

Excellent experience. Highly recommended - Me and my family absolutely loved our time with Max during our tour of the mangrove forests. Max went above and beyond to ensure that my mother was able to enjoy most of the tour, despite her having joint issues. He helped her climb up and down off the boat and was great at modifying the pace of the tour to accommodate her speed. Very kind and caring person. Thank you

we went to mekong delta, stopping first at the pagoda, then unicorn island and then lunch - eddie was a really good tour guide!!
overall everything was good and the car ride was also safe and comfortable with a good driver as well as the boat!

Very memorable experience - This tour was amazing! It was very well organized and our tour guide Eddie was very nice. He told us a lot about the land, the culture and the people and his English was perfect!

Excellent, varied Mekong tour with Eddie - Eddie was our guide. Eddie speaks excellent English, explains a lot about the country and its people, he is very well-read and very friendly. The tour was very interesting, very well organized, very varied.

Value for money - Convenient way of seeing a lot in one day but it is a busy day. Car and boat travel time between activities makes it manageable. Activities are very tourist focused so might not be the tour for you if you are looking for a very cultural experience

Great tour guide, tourist trap destination - Do yourself a favor and don’t book any of these daytrips from Saigon to the Mekong Delta areas like Mỹ Tho. We only had a limited time in the south but thought: “we must at least have seen this so let’s book a day tour.”. Trust me, you’ll not miss out on anything as all these trips are doing the same stops. Each and every single one designed on getting more money out of you. A summary of all tips/shopping ‘without’ obligation:
- Vinh Trang Pagoda: as soon as you get off the bus, they ask to buy hats. Nothing to do with the tour but just anoying that the tour does not care about this.
- Local women sing 4x short songs for you during fruit tasting and literally put a tipping box in the middle of each table.
- They ask you to buy the coconut juice on unicorn island. You don’t have to but it’s just weird if you don’t.
- The rowing boat tour takes 5mins, you need to tip both rowers. Bonus: (not kidding) even rowers on boats that you’re not even on ask for tips.
- You’ll try some tea & honey from the bees. Of course you ‘can’ buy to take home.
- Visiting the coconut candy manufacturers means another short explanation followed by plenty of time to buy candy.
Conclusion: DON’T book these tours just because Instagram & TikTok promise these beautiful boat rides. We went during low season and even then the whole thing is not worth it.
I give 2/5 only because our guide was very friendly. It’s really unfortunate her tour was disappointing because she’s a great guide.
