Fun tour, even in the rain - LOTS OF STAIRS! But that is Lyon! Mark did a great job combining Lyon history and architecture with guiding us through many traboules, covering both sides of the river. The thunderstorms and heavy rains in the morning pushed our tour back a couple hours (thanks, Mark!) so we were only dealing with gentle rain during the tour. The city policy of closing all parks and open areas on days when there is a storm in the area required a couple detours or skipping areas that Mark liked showing. We ended up the tour in a great private rooftop cafe and garden, complete with lounge chairs to rest up a bit from all the stairs! From there we continued on our own up to the Basilica and the music conservatory. The Roman ruins were closed because of the weather.
