Roof of Africa offered just what we were looking for in a Lesotho tour…and then some! - Roof of Africa’s owners (Emil and Britney) exceeded our tour expectations on all counts. We are two retired senior women who were curious about exploring Lesotho’s natural beauty, history and people at our own pace. From our first contact to our final day of the tour, Emil and Britney meticulously coordinated our trip development and tour progress. Other than the positive reviews we read on Trip Advisor, we knew next to nothing about Roof of Africa and Lesotho. But Emil worked patiently with us to develop a nine day Lesotho tour, with immediate and detail feedback to all our questions. The trip experience was greatly enhanced by our Guide Peter who opened our eyes to his country as he (safely) drove us around Lesotho. Peter, being a Lesotho native, served as a conversational conduit for us as we interacted with the people of Lesotho. Peter, with obviously no shortage of experience in “reading” tourists, discussed with us on a daily basis our activity and culinary preferences and options. He generously shared his impressive knowledge about Lesotho’s wildlife, history and people. The last two days of the tour we opted to luxuriate in a safari reserve going on exciting wildlife drives and eating dreamy meals. The Driver (sadly I don’t remember his name) gave us a very interesting Durban tour before driving us to our hotel in Underburg. Some of the Durban tour options initially appeared touristy to us but that did not end up being the case…Durban’s Phansi museum, Muthi trade market and the Mandela Capture Site Museum are not to be missed.
