• Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings is an ancient burial ground located on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor, Egypt. It is renowned as the burial site for many pharaohs and nobles from the New Kingdom period of Ancient Egypt (approximately 16th to 11th century BCE). The statues are carved from a single block of stone and stand about 60 feet (18 meters) tall, each weighing around 1000 tons.

The Colossi of Memnon were originally part of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, a grand structure dedicated to the pharaoh’s worship and funerary cult. The temple complex was once one of the largest and most magnificent in ancient Egypt. However, much of it has been destroyed over the centuries, leaving only the two colossal statues.
