• Colossi of Memnon - The Memnon Colossi are two enormous sandstone statues on Luxor’s west bank, standing before the entrance to Pharaoh Amenophis III’s Temple of the Dead. Dating back to the 14th century BC, each statue is approximately 18 meters tall, depicting King Amenophis III seated on his throne, created to guard his temple.

The statues gained fame for a mysterious sound that seemed to emanate from one statue at sunrise. The ancient Greeks believed this was the lament of the Trojan hero Memnon, hence the name “Memnon Colossi.” Today, they remain among Luxor’s most significant attractions.

• Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings is a renowned archaeological site on Luxor’s west bank. It served as a burial ground for Pharaohs during the New Kingdom, particularly from the 18th to the 20th Dynasty. • Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - The Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as the Temple of the Dead of Deir el-Bahari, is an awe-inspiring mortuary temple on Luxor’s west bank, nestled at the base of towering cliffs. Constructed during the 18th Dynasty by order of the renowned Pharaoh Hatshepsut, it is considered one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian funerary architecture.

The temple features three expansive terraced levels connected by broad ramps, richly adorned with reliefs and inscriptions showcasing the Queen’s accomplishments, including her famed expedition to the land of Punt. The temple’s harmonious integration with the surrounding landscape and its distinctive architectural style set it apart from other Egyptian temples.
