The UNESCO registered Lavaux region is a site to behold. Dating back more than 1000 years, the region is renowned for not only its panoramic views of Lake Geneva but also its sought after wines.
In this easy and fascinating afternoon walking tour**, you will discover the many stories, cultures and history of this region and sample wines from local winemakers.
Hosted by Marc, a UNESCO World Heritage Guide, wine educator/sommelier and journalist. He will share many stories unknown stories from amongst the vines. He will also share the art of wine-tasting and appreciation, whilst you uncover the enigma of Swiss wine and leave with many tales to tell of this beautiful region.

- The walk is approx 3 km (1.8 miles), comfortable walking shoes, bottled water and sunblock/hat are advised are advised.
- Under Swiss Law anyone 16 and over can take part in wine tasting activities

We meet guests directly at the Bossiere train station on the edge of Lavaux and proceed through the vines to Grandvaux. A direct train to this station leaves from Lausanne main station.

We absolutely loved our... - We absolutely loved our tour with Marc! He is incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does. He’s fantastic at telling the stories of both the history and wines of the area. Not only were the views on the tour breathtaking, but the wines Marc selected for us to try were wonderful and unlike anything else we’ve had. The ability to do a walking tour rather than being a on a bus was also such a unique aspect - getting up close to the vines made the tour so much more immersive and enjoyable. This was definitely the highlight of our trip!
As a side note, Marc was so helpful with logistics. He reached out a few weeks in advance and helped to figure out what train we should be taking. When our first train arrived late and we missed our second train, he helped with getting us to the right spot, checking in with us until we met up with the group. He went above and beyond what we would expect a typical “tour guide” to do.
Can’t recommend Marc and this tour highly enough!

Incredible experience - This was probably one of the best tours I've ever been on. It didn't hurt that the weather and scenery was perfect. What I loved most was that this wasn't simply a wine tasting, it was a wine experience. Marc is about the friendliest guy you'll ever meet. He made the tour so fun and enjoyable because of his bubbly personality. We learned so much from him about Swiss wine and the Lavaux region, but it didn't feel an educational lesson, it was like we were just friends hanging out. We didn't drink wine inside a cellar or cold tasting room, we drank on the most beautiful terraces overlooking the vineyards and Lac Lemon. I could have stayed there a week! Book this tour!!

Vine stories with Marc: outstanding - What a lovely experience! Marc met us at the tiny station in Bossiere and the fun began immediately! Marc is an exceptional guide and a true wine expert. I won’t spoil the experience other than to say the views, wines and food were brilliant.

Fun wine tour in the beautiful region! - My partner and I did Marc’s wine tour and it was amazing! We had such lovely time and got to enjoy a variety of delicious wines. The walk through the actual vineyards was stunning and informative - confirming that doing an actual tour was the right call for the area! Would highly recommend :)

Learned lots and laughed lots too!! - Marc really individualized the experience... He was truly an expert in the wine world in the area and shared his knowledge enthusiastically.. One of the best tour guides I have had in a while.. at first I thought it was a bit pricey, but it was worth every penny! Stops at 2 wineries really gave us a flavor of the locals, who were all friendly and welcoming.. Charcuterie and beautiful sunset to end the tour was fantastic...

Book it!!! - A must-do!!! Marc is the BEST you could ask for! This experience gives you unparalleled views overlooking vineyards and Lac Léman, amazing wine, and fascinating history about the Lavaux region. Fantastic wine tour - All the other positive reviews are right - this tour was the best part of our trip to Lausanne! Marc made the entire experience so fun and informative. He was incredibly helpful and communicative from the point of booking onwards, providing us with all the details of what we needed to know before the day and lots of recommendations for the rest of our trip in the local area.
Marc is very knowledgeable about the local area and wine - you get so much more out of the experience than just tasting some wines (which were all fantastic by the way!). We ended up purchasing some from each of the wineries we visited. He was ready for any question, even contentious ones about certain kinds of wine :). We were on the trip for my birthday and he went out of his way to make it extra special as well, which was very appreciated!
Highly recommend - don't hesitate to book!

Gorgeous wine walk - Our tour guide Marc was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and engaging. We also got an exceptional weather day. The temperature was perfect for meandering through the vines to our ultimate spot for wine tasting. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great experience - it has our highest recommendation! - This walk was much different than other vineyard tours and events that we've experienced before. Marc's knowledge was impressive, and the small, intimate settings of the various domains was so different than the larger operations we've seen previously. He knew all the locals and lived and worked with and in the midst of them. Although we had some rain during our walk, the scenery was spectacular, his manner professional and courteous, and the experience memorable.
