A beautiful way to see Tuscany! - This was wonderful, different, and beautiful. The ride is easy on e-bikes. However, we stayed focus and pushed and found that it took longer than expected both ways. There is an option to ride the train back; however, you have to carry the (heavy) bikes up to the train platform, and there is an extra fee to take the bikes on the train. We elected to ride both ways and it was fun but challenging to keep pace and get back in time to catch our train. This activity was a highlight for me. It was so beautiful and such a different way to see Tuscany. There’s not a lot as far as food and drinks between Lucca & Pisa, so plan to eat lunch in Pisa. As far as safety, even though we were sometimes on busier roads, the cars were well equipped to deal with cyclists and we felt safe. We did run into one hiccup when we disembarked our boat in LaSpezia— the train we needed was sold out and we paid a lot for a taxi ride. Make sure you book the train ticket easily on the Trenitalia app.

Great bike hire company - Very helpful team at the bike hire shop and excellent bicycles. It’s a lengthy ride to Pisa but easily achievable in the day. Highly recommended.

Excellent ride… highly recommend. - It was fantastic! Needed better directions on how to exit from the bike shop :) Definitely take two fully charged phones. Or even a separate phone for taking photos. Map in app was excellent and say to follow. Would highly recommend this tour! We biked both directions with no trouble.

This was a very cool... - This was a very cool experience. My only recommendation is to bring two fully charged phones plus two power banks, as the navigation app drains the battery very quickly. The bike quality was perfect. The ride does take you on roads with car traffic, so I would not recommend taking young children.

A beautiful day by bike - This activity allowed us to visit and then have lunch in Pisa In the early afternoon we preferred to return to Lucca by train. We were then able to tour the fortifications and visit the city by bike Small flat: we follow a greenway and some roads; the landscape is not very diverse

Wonderful Experience! - The bikes were ready and pre-fit to our heights, the app worked well (keep an eye on the map to help anticipate turns), and the ride covered varied vistas (riverside paths, farmland/vineyards, small towns, etc.). And the owner was entertaining. 😊

Lovely Ride in a Beautiful Place - This is a great outfitter. Our bikes were ready when we arrived and were in good working order. They provided directions through the Komoot app which we easily downloaded to our phones. This made for a lovely ride in a beautiful place

Worth the ride! - Beautiful countryside. Ride not difficult. Made it from Lucca to Pissa and back with some brief stops. Very informative and helpful staff giving us all the info we needed to feel safe with their bikes. Good directions!

Breath-taking views - I highly recommend this self-guided bike tour from Lucca to Pisa. The provided bikes were in excellent condition, each equipped with repair kits, chains, and locks, allowing us to securely stop and dine at various locations along the route. The journey offered breathtaking scenery, immersing us in the rich Italian rural culture. Even my young adult children considered it one of the most remarkable experiences of their lives. Each bike featured a phone holder, and the accompanying map was user-friendly, though we occasionally faced challenges locating the trail; however, we managed to navigate successfully. Certain segments required cycling on roads, so I recommend opting for e-bikes to comfortably travel to Pisa and back, as they provided significant assistance during the ride.

Good Value Booking with Viator - The location was easy to find, the bikes were in very good condition and comfortable to use. Customer service was friendly, including a good tutorial on how to use the app. While the app was very good at keeping us on the right path, the only downside is that it uses a lot of battery on the phone (drained it completely by the time we got to our destination). Luckily we brought a battery pack and could recharge it. Other than that, an excellent experience! Note that we paid much less by booking this trip through Viator before we left home than if we'd paid to do the same excursion directly from the vendor.
