Nice trip with great cycling - We rented 2 bikes: an electric trekking bike for my wife and a regular trekking bike for myself. The bikes were fine, with a cell phone holder and bicycle bag. We received clear explanations about the operation of the gears and e-bike. On departure we got the route on our mobile. The outward drive ran on often dirt gravel roads, and was beautiful. It was not very technical so fine to ride, also for less experienced cyclists. The return journey was almost entirely on asphalt, also along quiet roads. Along the way, the route passed a village to have a coffee and buy a soda. In total we had cycled about 60 km. On our return to Lucca we also did the round over the walls. We had a very nice day, and can definitely recommend Tourist Center Lucca!

Cycling is the way to experience the countryside - Great day out cycling along the river and bike baths to Lucca. So pleased to make the decision to ride back through the luscious green hills on small lanes past old villas and vineyards. But GPS navigation system is heavy on yr phone battery - you definitely need a power pack to recharge it at lunchtime. Round trip was 60 kms. The team at Smile & Ride do a great job - thoroughly recommend. Good bikes.

Beautiful ride, but took longer than expected. - Our family of 6 really enjoyed this bike tour to Pisa! It was a beautiful ride. However, it did take longer than we expected, and we barely made it to our reserved time to tour the leaning tower. Be sure you plan for extra time. We did not make any stops or stop at the rest stop, and it took about 2 hours and 45 min to get there. Other than getting there later than we expected and having to rush at the end, it was a really great experience!

Fantastic Family Adventure - Fantastic route to Pisa and back with family of four. The e-bikes were fantastic quality with plenty of charge to last all day- stunning scenery all the way to the Tower. Lovely villages to stop for refreshments on route.

Adventure, peace, scenery and history - We had a great afternoon cycling to Pisa in the sunshine. The path/track passed by farms, villages, the ancient Mill Canal and the medieval aqueduct.

Nice bike ride to Pisa - Nice bike ride to Pisa, along gravel paths and through villages but also pieces by road. Fine to cycle and good description via app on phone. Heading back was a bit boring. Good electric bikes and clear and friendly explanations when picking up the bikes.

Nice daytime activities in beautiful surroundings - Very nice to do. To Pisa a route along the water of 30 km and back 25 km. Paths not all paved. Excellent bikes and ditto battery. Plenty of time to spend in Pisa. Explanation of landlord on departure fine in good English Good lock is included to secure bike properly.

Not advisable in summer heat - While so many reviews indicated otherwise, this is not an easy undertaking at all. We are a family of 5 fit, active and energetic people. This was an extremely arduous day. Given the high summer temperatures, limited shade, and limited access to water refilling on the route, the length of travel and duration in full sun is not to be underestimated. We had an advance booking, but were greeted with a lukewarm reception and made to wait a fair while (in climbing temperatures) before our bikes were ready. The app installation was problematic, as the Tourist Center staff themselves could not override a subscription payment requirement which the app called for. It is not an app belonging to this company. Our slightly delayed start time, and then an early bike chain snapping needing replacement after a couple of km (though we were assisted quickly with this), all contributed to a ride which took place during the peak heat of the day. Unfortunately, with heatstroke imminent, our enjoyment of arriving at the Piazza dei Miracoli was curtailed.

Disappointing - Although we are relatively fit & experienced cyclists, this ride was not what we expected - 12km of the ride was on main roads which was actually quite dangerous negotiating two large roundabouts with heavy traffic. Some of the route was a dirt track about 1 foot wide, through waist high grass. Overall not an enjoyable experience. Definitely caught the train back.
