Old Louisville, famous for its splendid Victorian houses and eclectic inhabitants, has attracted national interest. It’s the neighborhood where mavens of bourbon, racing tycoons, and tobacco magnates chose to reside in the 19th century. The guided walk is based on books by author David Dominé, who often leads the tour groups himself. The walk includes narration of personal anecdotes and local chatter. The New York Times suggested this as the top priority in their ‘36 Hours in Louisville’ visitors’ guide. You’ll also hear about A DARK ROOM IN GLITTER BALL CITY, David’s upcoming book scheduled for release in October 2021!
We concentrate on ‘America’s Most Haunted Neighborhood,’ launching from the junction of Fourth and Ormsby, at the brink of the said neighborhood. This tour is a treat if you’re fond of ancient architecture and eerie history! However, if you are uncomfortable with neighborhoods undergoing transformation and heterogeneous racial composition, this may not be the one for you! Lastly, if you’re unable to sustain for 100 minutes without a restroom, it’s better to skip this one!
- FYI The starting point is in a transitional area where you might encounter panhandlers, homeless people, and people who don’t look like you.
