Humpback whales so close you can smell them! - This was the highlight of our Cabo trip. We highly recommend the sunset cruise with Andrea. Seeing, hearing, and even smelling whales up close was amazing!

Whale Watching Sunset Cruise - My family and I loved the 5:00 pm Sunset Cruise with CaboTrek! This excursion was simple to book and the people were very helpful and friendly. The boat driver did a great job locating / pointing out whales while the biologist informed us about the landforms / marine-life with amazing facts and was able to answer all of our questions during the experience. This will be an excursion to remember forever for my family and I! We are incredibly thankful to have done this activity and seen plenty of whales, drink wine / eat snacks at sunset and appreciate the marine life and natura around us in Cabo!

Sunset Whale Watching - Although their were not a lot of whales out the night we went we followed a momma and her baby for a while, the baby put on quite a show for us breaching 12-14 times. I really like that we were also given a lot of information and history as well. I’ ve always found the employees from Cabo Trek to be very knowledgeable and it was the most beautiful sunset that night.

Spectacular Sunset AND Whales! - Spectacular Sunset AND Whales! We had a spectacular sunset cruise with Cabo Trek and Sylvia and Captain Adrian. We first took a peek at the Arch and Pelican Rock as we headed out of the Marina. Then we saw several whales . Mommas and babies! Sylvia was very knowledgeable and informative and Captain Adrian had a great eye for spotting them and was good at maneuvering the boat for good pictures. We only had six people out of a possible 10. We followed a pair of whales on the Pacific side and easily saw over a dozen full breaches and dives with the Mom and Baby. Sylvia was able to predict when the baby was about to jump because of the slapping of her fins. I like that Cabo Trek is respectful of these beautiful creatures and knowledgeable. Captain Adrian did a great job managing a few swells we had while keeping up with the whales. We headed back to the Marina and still caught a glowing sunset behind the Arch. Absolutely spectacular!

Amazing sunset whale waytching trip! - We had an absolutely amazing time! We booked a day or two in advance and on the day of the trip they called and asked if we wanted to reschedule due to the high wind. We said no way we want to go! The wind died down and we were the only group on the boat. Vanusa our marine biologist and Freddie our captain were amazing. We saw a ton of whales and they were so friendly and welcoming. Vanusa was a wealth of information and so nice. It was an amazing trip!!!!

Top Notch Experience/ Company and whales galore! - Andrea, our guide and marine animal specialist, and Arian our Captain, were absolutely fantastic. While Andrea kept a running conversation (sidenote: My 11 year old daughter wants to become a marine biologist and she talked and listened to my daughter so well and for so long. That was probably my highlight!) that was very knowledgeable and entertaining Arian kept up the search for the whales communicating between himself and their companies lookouts. The sunset was beautiful and the sea was mostly calm. We saw The Arch, Lands' End, Lover's Beach & Divorce Beach, Pelican Rock - Many of the highly rated "Things To Do" in one shot. Most importantly, we saw humpback whales! We spent a ton of time with a baby and it's mama swimming right next to it. The baby breached several times and put on a show for the better part of our tour. Our experience with Cabo Trek, and particularly their guides, was top-notch.

Hidden Gem - Fantastic cruise! Wasn't sure what to expect, but we were beyond impressed with the crew. We were able to see a number of whales and also was able to hear them. Will gladly visit them again next time we are in town. Great job!

DO NOT do the Sunset Whale-Watching Cruise with Cabo Trek!! - The Cruise was a whale-watching cruise, and it left at 5:00pm. The sun was already almost set. As we set out, I noticed that most other boats on the water were returning to shore, and within 30 minutes, there was only one other boat besides ours. We watched the sun set first and then set out to look for whales - after the sun was gone. Needless to say, it was very difficult to spot any whales and for the rest of the cruise, we fleetingly saw 2 pairs of whales, but they seemed to already be settling in (under water) for the night. Even when they put a microphone in the water to listen for them, there was no activity where we were. Did they not know how to find their location, even under water? As compensation, they offered to play a recording from last season, which really disappointed us - we didn't need to come on cruise to hear a previous recording! I don't hold Cabo Trek responsible for the lack of whale appearances at that time - I know that animal activity in nature cannot be controlled by humans, but I would suggest that the sunset cruise begin an hour earlier for whale watching and then end with the sunset. There was so much whale activity in Cabo during the weeks that I was there - I saw so many whales from our resort, but at that time, so close to dark, it dies down dramatically. The thing that disappointed me the most was that our guide had promised that we would be switching off with other passengers for sitting in the front of the boat, where it was open, and the view was the best. The back of the boat was covered and had several vertical support bars, which did block our view. There was one other family with us, and she let them go first. They had the benefit of most of the daylight. But my family and I still waited patiently for our turn to come. About 30 minutes later, the driver asked the guide in Spanish about letting us have a turn at the front, and she said no. So, we didn't get to sit at the front at all. The other family enjoyed the sunset, the rest of the daylight, and beverages and snacks at the front of the boat, while we were stuck at the back for the entire trip. All in all, the cruise was not well planned for whale-watching, it was badly executed, and the guide exclusively favored the experience of the other family, and was did not seem concerned about my family's experience. We chose Cabo Trek because most of the reviews were excellent, which goes to show that even then, with the wrong program design and with a guide who is not committed to her customer experience, it can still turn out to be a terrible disappointment.
