Insane amount of disorganization if someone injures themselves on the ATV. Zero compensation for the inconvenience - Went on the fully automatic ATV tour with my boyfriend today (Friday May 2). Pick up at our hotel at 10.30am. Very prompt. Drove about 30 minutes to their location. You get out of the van and then join a check in line. Like at the airport. Stood in line for about 15 minutes. Seems like there could be a more efficient way to manage this. They try to promote their own insurance by bullying you into how much damage you could be responsible for. We gave in and got the insurance, another $35usd each, on top of the $25usd each additional for entrance to the park. The conversion rate is also poor. Despite the guy saying there is no fee for visa or Mastercard, we were charged more than we were told we would be. You are told you can't take cell phones on the tour, or anything with a camera, but that they will take pictures for you which you can buy at the end, on a USB for $120usd... An absolutely insane amount of money! Just get rid of the photographer that joins you on the tour and let people take their own photographs! We meet our guide, get our helmet and Goggles, and have to wait because I don't think they had enough automatic atvs. They have to spend a few minutes getting more from around the place. Then we headed off. There was just so much time spent waiting around! Things were fine for about 20 minutes. We stop and they take a picture near the water (because you aren't allowed to take your own photos) then you stop for 5 minutes to give your hands a break (because holding down the acceleration lever is actually a lot). Then one of the other people on the tour rolled the ATV on a steep corner, and dislocated his hip (at least that's what it appeared to be). The rest of the people on the tour helped lift and move him off the trail, flip the bike back, move the bike, try to work out how to move him etc. The guide was making calls, but we literally sat there, in the blazing sun for over an hour. The organization was abysmal. It took forever for the paramedic ATV to get there (like 35 mins) we all helped put the guy on the stretcher when he finally arrived and strapped him in, helped lift him onto the ATV etc. Then a second vehicle arrived and his friend went with him in the second vehicle, leaving two ATVs without drivers. Despite four people attending the scene not in our party. One couple that were doubling, had the guy take over one of the bikes, but the guide would not just leave the other ATV there (surely one of those three other people that attended the scene aside from the paramedic could have stayed behind to take the extra bike?) So we had to sit around for another 20 or so minutes waiting for someone to turn up, the guide even left at one point for at least five minutes to make sure someone was going to come, and then we could finally leave. We left around 12.15pm and came back at 2.15pm. I was told the tour was 2.5 hours when we booked (obviously including transport from hotels), but we had under an hour of actual riding, not to mention the hour of waiting around we did because of the rolled ATV. The ridiculous thing is that we were offered literally nothing to make up for the inconvenience. All the guide said was "sorry, but these things happen". Like? If they happen, you should have really clear procedures on how to handle them with the least inconvenience to the people paying very good money to be there! My hands are mad sunburnt, because we were just stuck for over an hour in the blazing sun waiting! I'm just thankful I wore a sweater and pants otherwise it wouldn't have just been my hands that were sunburnt! They could have at least offered the photos they took of us for free for the inconvenience, but no, literally nothing. Ridiculous! The guide had the audacity to say "when you review it would be great if you could give me 5 stars and we work for tips"... We still tipped because it wasn't his fault, and we aren't unkind, but come on! The handling of this matter was abysmal! So, no, I cannot recommend this tour, or this company. It was incredibly expensive to begin with, plus the $50usd park fees, the insurance they bully you into getting, and thinking you're getting a 2.5 hour experience when the actual riding is under an hour, and you might get stuck out there for another hour if something happens. Not to mention being unable to take any of your own photos, and them having the audacity to take pictures of you and charge $120 for the privilege is insane! Definitely do not recommend!
