Great & Fun Visit - We visited the Tower of London with the family and some friends and joined the Yeoman Warder tour with “Nev” our tour guide. The tour was GREAT, with excellent bits of historical knowledge and as an extra, some great comedy and anecdotes, which kept our (very big) group quite amused. The tour lasted around 45 minutes but the whole experience was amazing, thanks to Nev’s engagement with the group and also the very entertaining way that he shared the info… Would definitely recommend…

Dont miss it - This is my second time; you must go on the yeoman warder walk - it’s not too long but you hear important tidbits. Don’t miss the White Tower in the centre! It’s the oldest part and has an armour exhibit and an ancient chapel. A Friday in March was not crowded at all; no wait to see the jewels. I would like to go again and take an in depth tour if available.

Jewels, traditions, and RAVENS! - The jewels, the grounds, and the RAVENS! The whole experience is amazing. Like stepping back in time and seeing the old traditions, and the new, combined. Very regal!

Could have been American history, but...taxes - This was on my bucket list, again. We visited in 2007 without the kids, now it was their turn. I highly recommend taking the Yeoman warder tour, they provide detailed knowledge, mixed in with a great deal of humor. Go early. First thing to do is see the crown jewels. Do this first, otherwise you may not be able to, because the line gets pretty long quickly. The ravens are also a must see. There is much to see, the spot where 2 of Henry VIII's wives lost their heads, the chapel where said wives are buried, to the White Tower, where you will see all manor of medieval weapons. Dont miss the Bloody Tower, where the two princess spent their last days on earth and decide for yourself who was behind their disappearance...Richard III or maybe Henry VII.... As our tour ended, the Beefeater turned to us and said, "For you Americans, this could have all been your history, if you had just paid your taxes"

London Visit - A must do when visiting London! This is a fantastic historical fortress with tons of exhibits and storying telling to be enjoyed. The Beefeaters are brilliant and add magic to the visit with their colourful & humorous story telling. Suitable for Adults & Children. Toilets on site and a gift shop and cafe. You can book a place to watch the Ceremony of the Keys in the evening which takes place every night.

Take your time tour - Disappointed in the dungeon. But the tower was great and everything else. Wire sculptures of the animals were very detailed.

Tips on how to do some "research" on the Tower before you visit - This place is packed with history. I watched The Tudors, mini-series before going and did some research on the Tudor era which amplified my experience of the place. Highly recomend the Yeoman guard walking tour and Crown Jewel exhibition. White tower exhibition is also fine, but I would priorotize the other two. An extra pointer, watch comedian Tom Houghton's "Life in the Tower" scetches before going. (I viewed on Tik Tok)

History and atmosphere - Arrived shortly after 9:00 with our prebooked tickets and headed straight to the crown jewels, where we could take our time through the exhibit. Lots of interesting history throughout the grounds. Definitely need at least 3 hours to cover it all.
