An Elementary London Sherlock Tour! - An excellent, leisurely walking tour. Our guide was Ian, who was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. There was a nice mix of information, facts and trivia about everything from Conan Doyle and his Sherlock Holmes stories to the various film and TV adaptations, as well as the history of several key london landmarks, all of which play a part in the creation of the Holmes mythos. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Sherlock Holmes, Conan Doyle or general London history.

Amazing walk in Doyle’s London - It was amazing, Ian is great, the best walk trough the streets of London, real London not just turistic scenario, and the linked literature of the brilliant Conan Doyle, and unforgettable experience.

Excellent visit - Owen our guide took us in the footsteps of the most famous detective, both to the filming locations and those created by Sir Conan Doyle. Our guide made the effort to speak softly for a better understanding (not speaking English often, it is not easy to understand everything for a Frenchman) but Owen assured. I recommend it.

Very nice walk and guide - As a big Sherlock fan I really enjoyed the tour. Ian was very nice and funny, he not only took us through different book/film locations but also explained the history of some landmarks. It would be awesome to include locations from different media since a lot of it focused on BBC and Robert Downey Jr. locations, but it was a great tour overall and definitely one of the highlights of my visit to London!

An atmospheric meal - Lovely ambiance, good food. I'd visited here before and chose it for a pre-theatre meal on this visit. It did not disappoint. Meal was excellent - the sticky toffee pudding was especially fine. iz will return.

Not for me - There were certainly things to like : Friendly guide. Overall organization of the tour worked well. Value for money was good, we walked around for about two hours and 15 minutes. London was sunny. 😉 I was somewhat disappointed, though, because the tour focused mainly on the movie and series adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes stories and novels. We saw a number of locations where specific scenes were shot, but I would’ve been much more interested in learning about the historian backgrounds of the time, alleged locations of the actual stories and novels, etc. Finally, some of the core info was wrong: the guide told us that Arthur Conan Doyle let his protagonist initially die at the Reichenbach Falls to turn himself to other literary projects (correct) - but that after he continued writing Holmes stories later on, he used the “trick” of locating them all before his death (incorrect). Also incorrectly, he claimed that all the stories were allegedly written by Dr. Watson (some are actually written by the master detective himself - allegedly, of course). Overall, certainly a good tour if you enjoy the BBC series or the Robert Downey Jr. movies. But not really for me.
