A tour of the Royal Observatory - We had a conducted tour. Both Paul and Rachel were brilliant and brought time and its importance to maritime travel and navigation, as well as the lives of the Astronomers Royal, to life for us. Brilliant!

January visit on a grey day - I have been meaning to visit for a long time and as we were staying locally decided the time had come and I also decided to book a tour. So glad I did and our guide was fantastic. Really brought the story of the observatory to life for us. Highly recommend booking on a tour if you can. Would love to go back in better weather and when the planetarium reopens after it’s refurb. Don’t forget to use your Art Fund Pass if you have one as this makes it a great value day out.

View, exhibition and Greenwich - worth a visit - A beautiful place, just because of the great view. Interesting exhibition. We were still at the House of the Queen and the Maritim Museum. The trip was worth it.

Worth the climb, ought to be included in a Greenwich tour. - Fascinating view of how time keeping influences maritime navigation. The building is very impressive as is the history of maritime times keeping. The meridian line is a must see owing to its significance. Would be even better if folk didn’t hog the photo opportunity - you don’t need 30 identical shots of you making a peace sign astride of the line whilst pulling a stupid face now do you? Some good views of Greenwich and surrounding Thames views from the hill top.

not worth the entrance fee - there’s not much to do once in there, walk through few musty rooms, the telescope is not operational, although I did appreciate the tour guide explaining the science behind it and it’s place in history; there is quite long line to take photo at the zero meridian line, with people that spend several minutes for the ‘perfect shot’, so thank you rick steves for making me waste my time and money on it, the view of London from up there just outside the observatory it’s beautiful and probably worth it in the spring or summer; did not find nice restaurants in the area but there was some pizza place that was looking good from outside, instead we ate some so-and-so burger at another place that allows pets, not my cup of tea
