Fascinating Musical History - Handel & Hendrix House is situated in Brook Street and is a short walk from Bond Street station. It is an old Georgian house which was the home of George Frideric Handel in the 18th century and Jimi Hendrix in the late Sixties. The house has been renovated over the years and there is much interesting memorabilia relating to both these musical giants throughout. Handel composed 42 operas including the Messiah. I had little knowledge of him prior to my visit but the helpful guides provided a good insight to his career. He spent 36 years in this house. Hendrix lived here with girlfriend Kathy Etchingham for around a year. Some great photos and old clothing of Jimi’s plus old guitars, great background music and videos. I spent an hour or so here and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Admission was free with an Art Fund card.

The Vibe of Hendrix & Handel lives. - An excellent experience. I initially went because of the Hendrix connection. The Handel House was beautiful and a real effort has been made to recreate the atmosphere. The lady who was in the rooms to give more Info and answer any questions was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The Hendrix room(which was his main hangout) was like walking back in time to the 60s. The adjoining rooms were full of information and displays which was nicely laid out. The house has been modified quite extensively since the 60s so some rooms & staircases have changed. It would have been good to see more of what the flat consisted of, but overall the experience was very good and it was well worth the entrance fee.

Could be better - Small museum in the heart of London. You can visit the houses of Händel and Jimi Hendrix who lived next to each other. This was nice to go to but talking to the guides most of the items were replicas.

This is not what I had hoped for and expected. - Utterly disappointing and a complete waste of time and money. I thought I was going to see the flat Hendrix lived in. Instead it was his bedroom and even that room only had the original mirror. There is no access to kitchen or bathroom so no atmosphere. His bedroom had Xmas trees too which are completely out of place. I am so upset.
