Great experience for young children - We took my grandson who is seven and very keen on boats so he loved it. We explored the ship and looked at all the rigging but the think he liked most was the rope making demonstration. It was very quiet so he had the undivided attention of Ilinca, who allowed him to make two pieces - the second for his young sister. Good cafe as well!

Sailing back in time - I first visited the Cutty Sark when I was knee high to a grasshopper (albeit a large grasshopper!) so it brought back so many memories. Obviously there was an awful fire a few years ago, but you would not know when you hope on board. There is a nice little cafe under the ship, with a fantastic display of figureheads as well. At one time the fastest tea clipper in the world, this is most definitely somewhere you should visit. I would suggest arriving on the river which is the easiest, and the most scenic way to do it!

Inclusive, interesting, beautifully presented - Brilliant, really interesting. But I was particularly impressed with wheelchair access. Considering it was an old boat on 4 floors there was a lift to all sections, staff were brilliant. It was such an inclusive experience which I appreciated enormously… well done Cutty Sark.

A Hidden Gem in Greenwich – A Fascinating Look at Maritime History - I visited the Cutty Sark with my 14-year-old son on our way from the Observatory and the Prime Meridian and we were unexpectedly impressed. It became a highlight of our day. The exhibit blends digital displays, replicas, and original artifacts to tell the story of the tea trade with China and, later, the wool trade with Australia—all without feeling overwhelming. It also gives a great sense of maritime navigation and sailors’ lives at sea, briefly touching on the Opium Wars and global trade shifts. We spent about two hours fully engaged. Informative, immersive, and well-paced—a great experience.

Excellent Guided Tour - I really enjoyed my visit today, as I've lived in London for years, but never visited before. One of the staff members recommend the guided tour, and I'm so glad he did. It was fantastic. Poppy was our guide and she was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in just about the right level of detail. Using the headphones was great, as I sometimes struggle to hear what tour guides are saying. The tour lasted an hour and at only £5 is incredibly good value.

Rope making and lots of fun - We enjoyed the rope making that was done there. It was a special experience for our kids. I was told that they offer different workshops, and they all sounded intersting. The ship was really impressive and really interactive compared to the HMS Victory. Really nice with kids.

The star attraction of our day in Greenwich - We visited the Observatory, Naval College and Cutty Sark on our day in Greenwich. Only Cutty Sark was worthwhile. Others you should avoid, although view across London from outside the Observatory is great. I am not really into ships but this was a very interesting attraction. Well laid out, lots of information, felt you really understood the ship and how it functioned.

Disappointing and non-essential - Pretty underwhelming and disappointing experience. There is very little to see in the ship itself, and frankly the story of this merchant vessel is not that interesting either.
