- St. James’s Palace - When visiting London, witnessing the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace is a must. Our tour offers the best vantage points to enjoy this spectacle. You’ll observe the Old Guard, the New Guard, St James’s Palace, and the renowned Buckingham Palace. Additionally, you’ll see Clarence House, the residence of the King and Queen. You’ll even have the opportunity to march alongside the Guards and Ceremonial bands as they proceed down The Mall. Please note that there is some walking involved (approximately a mile and a half), and part of it is at a marching pace. We do not approach the gates of Buckingham Palace due to crowding, limited views, and to ensure you see the entire ceremony. With us, you enjoy the best views from optimal locations at the perfect times. You’ll also learn about the history of this age-old ceremony, hear fascinating stories, and have a lot of fun along the way.
- Buckingham Palace - Your Changing of the Guard experience concludes outside Buckingham Palace. From there, it’s a short walk to Green Park or St James’s Park tube stations. Alternatively, it’s a 15-minute walk to Trafalgar Square or Parliament Square. Please be aware: the Changing of the Guard ceremony can be canceled at short notice by the British Army or Westminster Council. In case of rain, a ‘wet change’ may occur, meaning the soldiers will march without the ceremonial band.

Your guide will be holding a red Fantastic Walks flag and wearing a Fantastic Walks rucksack. If you are coming by Tube, use the Trafalgar Square exit. Please be at the meeting point ten minutes before the scheduled start time. If you're late, head along The Mall to Friary Court, St James's Palace.

History and fun at the same time. - Robin was terrific. He makes history a fun experience with many interesting and often humorous background stories. One of the best tours we’ve been on!

Robin was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide! - We signed up for Changing of the Guard, but it was cancelled last minute due to a protest. Robin apologized and said he would refund our money, but still give a free 2 hour walking tour. He was so informative that we all told him it to refund the money! Highly recommended.

Changing of the Guards - book with Robin!! - Robin is an outstanding guide in every way!! He is extremely knowledgeable and makes learning history fun! His sense of humor is perfect and he is a logistical genius! We had perfect viewing spots at multiple locations. He paced the group with precision and created a 5 star experience for us. Definitely our favorite highlight while in London!!

Great experience with a great guide - Wonderful guide in Robin! Get history, great in conveying events and the meanings. Very tolerant of different walking speeds.

Guide makes the difference. Robin was amazing. - Robin was absolutely amazing. His knowledge mixed with humour made it an unforgettable experience. He took the time to answer our questions and share his personal experiences along with the historical significance. If doing this tour, you need to make sure he is your guide.

Robin is the GOAT tour guide for kids!!! - Robin gave us the most amazing tour of London with our kids. He’s a teacher and knew exactly how to keep them interested and involved, particularly our 5 year old, he let her hold the flag as we walked around!
We went to the Changing of the Guard and he managed to get us into three great spots where we were at the front each time!! It felt easy and fun the whole way through. This was one of the highlights of our trip and I’d recommend Robin to anyone visiting with children or who wants a tour with a laugh & warmth. Robin is the GOAT tour guide!! Thanks for making it fun for all of us.
