Porto-Novo - Your journey begins in the morning with a pick-up at your Pension. Comfortably installed in our air-conditioned vehicle, let yourself be guided through a journey of approximately 50 minutes to 1:30, depending on your location, to Porto-Novo.
Upon arrival in town, the tour begins with an immersion in the heart of royal history, at the Honmè Museum.
Formerly the residence of Kings of Porto-Novo, this royal palace transformed into a museum for a unique discovery of Beninese cultural heritage. You will discover:

Through the stories of your Guide, you will be immersed in the history of sovereigns of Porto-Novo, their links with traditional cults, and their role in the political and cultural construction of the country.

Musee Honme (Palais Royal) - In the heart of Porto-Novo, the Honmè Museum opens the doors of the old royal palace of kings. This museum, housed in the royal residence of King Toffa, is one of the most important heritage sites in Benin.

You will have the opportunity to approach some convents (places of initiation and worship) where voodoo priests still officiate today. In these often discreet spaces, we discover altars, sacred sculptures and ritual objects used for communication with the deities (Orisha).

RIVIÈRE NOIRE ADJARRA BÉNIN 🇧🇯📍 - After the historical and cultural richness, head to a completely different scenery: the Black River of Adjara, located a few kilometers from the city. The pleasant and exotic route takes you through the villages and green landscapes of the Adjara region, a territory rich in traditions and in nature.
On arrival, the Black River reveals a peaceful environment, bordered by mangroves, water lilies and tropical vegetation. This unspoilt place invites you to relax, contemplate and discover the Beninese river life.
On the spot, several experiences are possible:

Cotonou - After this beautiful immersion in the heart of the Beninese nature, it is time to hit the road back. You are en route back to Cotonou in the late afternoon, comfortably installed in your air-conditioned vehicle.
The return trip offers a last look at the landscapes crossed, between traditional villages, local markets and scenes of daily life. Pension in early evening, with souvenirs in mind and a day full of cultural, historical and natural discoveries.

From the Royal Palace of Abomey to the Cascade of Womé
Notse - Continue your journey en route to the border between Benin and Togo through the lively towns of Adjahomé, Azové and Tohun. Upon arrival at the border, complete the immigration formalities on both sides. Once your stamps are obtained, cross the Togolese border and follow the road through Notsè to reach the picturesque town of Agou.
Mount Agou - Once at the foot of Mount Agou, we will en route uphill to the village of Kebo Djigbé, one of the villages perched on the mountainsides, offering breathtaking views and very popular with tourists.
A short hike through the village will take us to Pic d’Agou. It’s time to take out your cameras to capture spectacular panoramas. With a little luck, you will have the opportunity to talk with the locals and discover their daily life.
We will provide you with detailed explanations of the different elements present on the site. The pleasant climate of Pic d’Agou will undoubtedly make you want to spend the whole day there.
Cascade de Wome - Next stop for an energy recovery: the cascade of Womé for a good swim in its refreshing waterfall to better resume this long road ahead. With a little luck you could meet other tourists on the site of visit and share your experiences. You will climb down steep terrain to reach the hidden waterfall and climb the same way after your visit.

The Castle Viale - Start your day with a visit to a remarkable castle, prized for its unique architecture and exceptional geographical location. On a clear day, you will even have the chance to see Lake of the Haute Volta, nestled in the mountains.
Despite a certain lack of maintenance and renovation, this site is well worth a visit both for its beauty and for the experience it offers.

Black Star Square - Stop at Independence Square, one of Africa’s largest public squares, with its imposing arches and Black Rising Star Gate, a symbol of freedom.
