Entertaining take on the castle's history - The actors are very talented and entertaining. We all enjoyed the experience. Please note that you have to pick up your tickets from the Funicular office before the tour. We were late for the tour because there was a very long queue there.

Time machine experience - super cool! - The Time Machine experience really brought the castle to life. The guide was excellent, and the actors really brought the place to life! The castle cafe had a lovely selection of toasties, albeit they had sold out of a number of them. The exhibits were cool and especially should out to the puppet museum. The vista from the top of the tower is particularly impressive too.

The Unexpected Treasure Found in Ljubljana - The Capitol of Slovenia - Our recent visit to Ljubljana Castle in Slovenia was the highlight of our stay in this underrated European capitol city. Situated on a hilltop, the castle is accessible by car and also has an onsite funicular. The restored castle was absolutely pristine and housed an unexpected treasure: the Puppet Museum. With the help of the onsite museum guide, Alexander, we were able to witness a masterful collection of puppets that depicted the history surrounding Ljubljana. The most impressive exhibit showcased a Nazi soldier marching prisoners to their fate. Alexander explained that the puppets were presented in a way that highlighted the different social classes present during that time of World War II. It was a phenomenal portrait of a painful and pivotal moment in European (and global) history. It served as a reminder to us all of how fortunate we are to live in a free society. Thursday, September 19th, 1pm tour. - I’ll start by saying this tour totally exceeded my expectations. I bought the tickets online well in advance, and went to the city level of the funicular to check in for the tour. Our funicular ride was included in the tour price. We then toured around the free to the public areas of the castle, before our 1pm start time. The start was by the bridge by the main entrance, and info office. We were greeted by our guide Matic. He was great! He is quite personable, and was a good storyteller himself. Our tour started there and he guided us along to different stations, giving us information, or where applicable, turned over the storytelling to the actor, or actors. This is where coming in to the tour, I thought it might be a little goofy. Boy, was I wrong. The actors were great, and there portrayals were so good, and easy to understand. Nothing too heavy, just the right amount of information to keep me listening, and learning. It was great, and the time went by so fast. Bravo to everyone who interacted with our group. I would do it again.

Must-see - Ljubljana Castle, which has overlooked the city from the top of the hill for 900 years, is the biggest point of interest in Ljubljana. From the Castle Observation Tower and from the perimeter wall you can enjoy the most beautiful views of the city. The rooms of the Castle host the museum exhibition "History of Slovenia", the Puppet Museum. Several historic spaces can be seen, including the Chapel of St. George, the Penitentiary Centre and the Virtual Castle. Numerous artistic exhibitions are organized at the Château which you can also reach by funicular. The Château also hosts two restaurants: “Gostilna na gradu” and “Strelec”, as well as the Castle cafeteria (Grajska kavarna), a wine bar (Grajska Vinoteka & Hram Strelec) and a night club. It is also a site of cultural events, events for the whole family, dance parties and an outdoor summer cinema called “Films Under the Stars”.

Beautiful discovery, castle, museum, view of the tower - Very nice visit to the castle, well organized, with Audio Guide in French. The ticket also included the puppet museum, as well as the Slovenian History Museum, which are inside the castle, and also the very successful 3D animation.

Visitando Castelo Liubliana - I arrived 10 minutes in advance, I made sure the place was correct, but the guide simply did not appear, I decided to go alone, the place is huge and beautiful, but without a guide I lost a lot of information and I did not see anyone dressed as informed.
