Great walking tour and... - Great walking tour and tour of castle to include the free parts of the castle. Our guide welcomed questions and shared history as well as great insights into current culture and everyday life in Slovenia.

Booking our entrance... - Booking our entrance tickets with the audio guide and funicular was the way to go! We walked up the hill, then climbed all of the stairways at the castle, listened to all of the audio as we toured, then took the funicular back down. For anyone who can't climb the hill, the funicular in both directions makes this tour possible for them too.

Nice castle - This place is close to city center around 5 minutes from dragon bridge by car. There are many activates in the castle, visit the cattle , the tower , Puppet Museum and 4D cinema. We enjoy the there in this place But, the bad thing the place is open , the weather was too hot and this place is too crowded. note this place is less than 650 meter walking from dragon bridge .But, It is hard to walk because it is not straight road you must climb the road because the castle above the mountain. In my this place not the best attraction. But, worth visit. Also, the staff nice, welcome and Helpful you are family like us you should buy family ticket cheaper.

The unmissable visit - A very good bisque to make, a must DE passage in Ljubljana. The site is superbly maintained, family activities are planned to discover the place. A great DE history well presented and some varied exhibitions make it a very pleasant moment. Without difficulty, not necessarily a huge crowd but often from the world. The funicular climb EN much faster with a waiting risk because the cabin takes only 15 to 20 people. On foot, have a very good motivation especially if it is hot. The view is beautiful over the whole city and mountains.

Curious visit and good views - We go up by funicular, 3,30 euros the rise is the price. The Castle can be visited free of charge, this renovated , has several rooms. The views are amazing.

Worthwhile visit - Beautiful building, fascinating history. Food reasonably priced, steep walk up but beautiful. We brought ticket on line to avoid lining up, but then still has to visit ticket booth to get printed ticket with QR code so seemed a bit pointless.

Castle audio tour - Very interesting audio tour and magnificent hilltop castle with 360 views. Audio information was thorough and gave sense of the history. Only downside is the directions for getting to the Funicular took one to the top. Not at the lower level. So only road down. It is a steep hike up to the castle so hopefully they will get the directions corrected for others.

Disappointing castle, fab views. - The castle is spectacular viewed from the town and the views from the castle are also spectacular.... So it's worth going up there. But the castle itself is a bit disappointing. It's quite hard to navigate, you have to pay a euro to go to the loo, the museum is very dull. The only thing that brings it to life is the short 4D film taking you on a whistlestop tour of the castle's past. This is actually really good (it's 4D cos it includes rain!). The Courtyard is also a nice place for a drink. So go for the views and the film!

nicely restored castle. - We took the cable car to the castle (€3PP only). This is a 2-minute drive with views of the city. You can visit the castle itself for free, but you can only visit several rooms with an entrance ticket. We did not do this because the ticket was reasonably expensive. You do have a very nice view of Ljubljana. There is a star restaurant in the castle square. We went down on foot. If you want to go up on foot, this seems like a brisk climb. Especially not for people with walking difficulties.

One of the Expectations - Not exactly what we expect from a visit to the castle. The view of the city is pretty cool but the organization inside could improve a lot. It’s not clear where to start with audio-guide, where to continue etc. I’ve heard other visitors complain too. The time we spent trying to understand the logic of the place has already made everything tired. There's a 4D cinema with a short film that's cool but it wasn't the reason we went to the castle. After all, we were disappointed and would have preferred to use our limited time in town to visit another place.
