More than castle, fortress - Totally rebuilt but with great rigor and gusto. Recommended. Use the funicular. Guidance is really not necessary.

Well worth a visit - Worthy of a visit especially given its the most prominent feature of the city skyline. Catch the funicular up and walk down. The views from the tower are worth the climb up the spiral staircase. The coffee in the cafe within the walls of the castle was very good too.

Worth seeing from the outside - Very cute to visit outside and inside the yard. The visit of the castle itself is not so worth it. Very nice view of the city, but the most beautiful thing is undoubtedly the uphill walk from the city center to the castle and the view of the outer walls.

Castle with a ..view - The castle is one of the city attractions. You can enjoy the view and that’s it. My suggestion is to take a 5 minute walk up and spend the 19euro per person on beers on your way down.

Just small castle - A Small castle in Europe. Nothing much to see except enjoying the view of Ljubljana. Funicular is fun though. Walking up the stairs to the tower is fun.

No big deal.... - Beautiful restoration of the Castle on an architectural level. But objectively it doesn’t have much to offer compared to other castles around Slovenia.

Castle with a view of Ljubljana - We visited Ljubljana Castle by purchasing the entrance + funicular + audio guide (total 23€ with a small discount related to online purchase). The Castle is undoubtedly very pretty, alternating parts left to "old" to renovated parts with a credible style for the sense of the castle itself. We found the default route and its audio guide very confusing, unable to give a precise order. Not all things to see are interesting, some too little in-depth, others too. You must see, in addition to the view of the city (from the lookout tower first of all), the virtual reality movie (half an hour) and the puppet exhibition, which represent something different from the usual. Recommended visit to the castle, but apart from a couple of things, just free access.

An expensive ticket to what it offers - It is a tour in which you have the option of visiting the castle for free or paying for a ticket, in my case 14 Euros have access to certain sites within it. I recommend not paying admission, 14 euros seems very expensive for what it offers, it is not worth paying. It can be reached on foot or by Funicular, those who remain to do it walking know that it arrives in a short time and is not very difficult.

Expensive for what it offers - Apart from the beautiful view of the city, for the rest think about it before paying 15€ of admission because it is not worth it and most of the area you can visit without a ticket. Invest them (the 15€) only if you are interested in knowing more about the recent founding of the Republic of Slovenia after the conflict in the former Yugoslavia. Otherwise there remains the climb on the tower that applies to the beautiful view and the frescoed chapel that is really pretty. The rest looks like a small shopping mall with bars and shops.

Great place but badly managed - Got tickets for the cable car under the impression we had access to the tower but no. Restrooms not free and coins needed!
