From there, we’ll traverse the mountains of Sintra en route to Mafra, skirting along the Atlantic coastline. There’ll be a break for lunch, where you can savour the exceptional local…
The excursion begins bright and early with a pickup from your accommodation. We’ll journey to Queluz for an exclusive guided exploration of the Palace’s enchanting rooms.
From there, we’ll traverse the mountains of Sintra en route to Mafra, skirting along the Atlantic coastline. There’ll be a break for lunch, where you can savour the exceptional local cuisine. Next, we’ll venture to the Mafra National Palace and Convent, a structure erected during the ruling period of King John V (1707 - 1750) fulfilling a promise he made in 1711 to build a convent if his wife, Queen Mariana, bore him a son. An exclusive guided tour of the interior will also be included.
