Oceanário de Lisboa - Visiting the Oceanário de Lisboa offers a remarkable experience, allowing guests to explore and feel the enchanting magic of the underwater realm. Embark on this reflective journey to encounter 8,000 marine creatures from 500 diverse species.
The permanent exhibition (Aquarium) honors life on Earth with a central 5-million-liter saltwater aquarium, encircled by four marine habitats that represent the North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific, and Tropical Indian Ocean. This design creates the illusion of viewing a single aquarium and ocean. The tour spans two levels, both terrestrial and underwater, traversing the temperate, tropical, and cold waters of the planet’s various oceans.
Additionally, explore the “Forests Underwater,” a masterpiece by Takashi Amano, showcasing tropical forests through the world’s largest nature aquarium, and the new “Submerged Universe” exhibition, an immersive journey into the vastness of the ocean.

Beautiful insight into our fascinating oceans - My partner and I are always a bit dubious of zoos and aquariums for ethical reasons but after doing a bit of research and reading reviews, they were clearly dedicated to ocean conservation and educating the wider public on the importance of bio-diversity.
You start by entering into an exhibition called 'Forests Underwater' by Takashi Amano. It's beautiful, very calming and oddly moving. I'd highly recommend watching the video at the end where you can see how the exhibition came together and hear an impassioned Amano talk about his deep love of underwater worlds and protecting them.
The design of the aquarium is really well thought out with everything centred around one huge tank with lots of viewing points along the way.
Puffins, otters and sun fish were our personal highlights!
I'd recommend people also watch the video about the aquarium in general, it's very interesting and thought provoking.
Beautiful! I'd go back again and recommend others visit.

Oceanary - Exceptional place! At the entrance of the video "The One", right at the beginning, before the Oceanarium, they should put a led wire on the floor, because it is completely dark and gives a lot of insecurity to walk to the projection room!

very interesting and legal - very interesting and cool. my favorite part was the penguins. and is divided each part as for example the North Pole, Amazon Forest and VC is immersed in the atmosphere, because they recreate the temperature, vegetation and animals.

Impressive aquarium - One of the more impressive aquariums we have visited, the main exhibit is an enormous, building-sized habitat featuring countless species of interesting sea life, including an impressive variety of sharks, rays, and a rare ocean sunfish. There are four other regional exhibits as well, all of which are nicely presented and easily accessible There were quite a few educational opportunities dedicated to biology and conservation. It is an architecturally interesting site as well, making use of natural seawater for cooling, having been constructed on an artificial lagoon along the banks of the Tagus river. There is also a beautiful "temporary exhibit" (open since 2015) of a tropical freshwater "underwater forest".

A SEA EXPERIENCE - The whole place is awesome. Clean and very well served. It offers an interesting visit with adequate, spacious facilities that prevent crowding of visitors and have sufficient and professional staff that at all times help you to make your visit feel pleasant. It has a small cafe that offers drinks and snacks limited in variety but serve its purpose as an emergency option. The prices are good. Nice experience.

Amazingly surprising - Okay so we’re from Australia so have seen our fair share of marine parks and centres but this one exceptional. Mostly in its comprehensively sustainable message and global coverage. I particularly loved the puffins and otters. It also was an incredibly calming and zen kind of place - we spent a good few hours exploring every exhibition. Slightly outside of downtown Lisbon it’s worth the visit and it’s very near the Vasco de Gama outlet centre if that’s your thing!

Underwhelming, not worth it - Went here on a discount for the ‘Blue Moon’ for €15.-
To be fair, it is very underwheming, there is one tank in the middle with a 360* viewingangle, and a few small tanks. The expositions where empty and the exposition was in a small room.
ALOT of kids, without supervision in any sense. Very annoying, not worth it.
