This experience will immerse participants in Lisbon’s Queer Nightlife, fostering connections within a friendly, small group. Attendees will observe a warm-hearted community come to life while gaining insights into Portuguese history and truly experiencing queer venues and associations in Lisbon. It’s a delightful blend of learning and the simple joy of experiencing, conversing, and meeting new people.
The focus of this experience is on the ambiance of each venue. Participants will visit 2 to 3 venues and cultural spaces that are currently significant for the LGBTQ+ community in Lisbon and learn about their history, while enjoying tapas and drinks along the way. The Nightlife Experience is not only an opportunity to connect with the most incredible queer spaces in Lisbon, but also a chance to directly support these venues and services.
This is not a bar crawl or a crowded night out—it’s an intimate, cozy experience under the night sky, offering important glimpses of Portuguese history.

Exploring Queer Lisbon - The Queer Lisbon Tour with Leo was absolutely incredible! From the moment we met her, Leo’s warmth and passion for Lisbon’s LGBTQ+ history shone through. She shared captivating stories, blending important historical events with her own experiences, making every stop along the way feel personal and meaningful.
We strolled through the city’s beautiful streets, uncovering hidden gems and key landmarks that are significant to the queer community. Leo also introduced us to vibrant queer-owned spaces, showing us both the past and present of Lisbon’s LGBTQ+ scene in a truly inclusive way.
One of the best parts was our stop at a cozy café, where we enjoyed a delicious meal and connected with the group over great conversations. By the end of the night, it felt like we had made new friends and gained a deeper understanding of the city.
If you’re looking for a tour that’s fun, educational, and full of heart, the Queer Lisbon Tour. Highly recommend!

Great experience - This was the best thing I did in Lisbon — an evening of good conversation, great food, and interesting historical information. By the end of the night, you've made new friends, learned a lot about Lisbon, and you're right in the middle of the queer scene as the nightlife is beginning. Great stuff.

Great experience! - It was an night tour that I went on alone. I was worried that I would be alone, but thanks to our guide Leonor, I had a very comfortable night. It was a great experience and the best activity I could have done in Lisbon by myself. It was a tour which I learned about the history of Portugal, queer life and had very enjoyable conversations. I am also very happy to have made new queer friends. Thank you Queer Lisbon Tour!

Authentic Tour through some of Lisbon's queer-owned gems! - Thanks so much to Leonora for an authentic tour with interesting information on queer history in Portugal and Lisbon, delicious food and drinks in all queer-owned places. Thoughtful, educational and inclusive experience - My wife and I attended the Queer Lisbon Nightlife Tour and truly had a splendid evening. The guide offered an enriching and inclusive experience, focusing on LGBTQ+ past and present in Portugal through a thoughtful, educational lens. Designed with an emphasis on community-based and decolonial perspectives, the tour did more than just highlight key historical points; they also explore the intersections of gender, sexuality, and colonialism in Portugal’s past. We visited a range of queer-owned spaces, from nightlife venues to immigrant and BIPOC-owned businesses, adding another layer of intentionality to the experience. The tour felt safe, respectful, and inclusive, particularly for trans individuals and queer women.
We highly recommend this experience.

Casual but very informative evening like with friends - It was a lot of fun with Julie and the other guests. You will learn a lot about the history of individual people, about the colonial period and dictatorship in Portugal and how it has developed for queer people. Through the mix of information about some people's history and casual conversations about all sorts of topics, it was a perfect evening in Lisbon. The food and drinks were great and I definitely recommend doing the tour. I got a good insight into Portuguese cults.

Great queer and Lisbon tour - Amazing tour! We received so much information and were brought to very wonderful restaurants that were queer/BIPOC owned. Can’t give enough stars to our tour guide, she gave us so much context and background that we couldn’t have gotten elsewhere!

Don’t miss this one of a kind tour! - Paulá and Leonor run an excellent tour anyone interested in knowing some of the history and current political context of queer and trans communities, immigrant communities, and social justice/leftist movements in Portugal (and especially Lisbon) should definitely take.
Their different lived experiences (Paulá as an immigrant from Brasil, Leonor as a Portuguese person) provide complementary perspectives, and they are both clearly connected to queer and social justice grassroots communities here.
They take their time with questions, recommend other sites and activities, and end the tour at a wonderful Black queer Brazilian-owned restaurant (which costs extra and is absolutely worth it).
A must-do when you are in Lisbon!
