What an Incredible Experience!! - Rui and Pedro are extremely passionate and knowledgeable of the history and culture of Lisbon. Our family appreciated and understood more about Fado and how it relates to the way of life of Portuguese heritage. I would highly recommend this Fado tour with the opportunity to learn about Lisboa's rich culture, music and food! AMAZING time and experience! Thank you to you both :)

Alfama Memories - Our driver was Pedro, he stopped at some beautiful Sunset spots for pictures. We were the only customers at the restaurant for the show, so it was special. The food was a very good presentation of Portugese cuisine. Pedro was very informative on the history of Alfama. Thank you

Great Alfama experience - Pedro introduced us to a magnificent view at sunset & Alfama at night . We had a fun experience that only Pedro could provide.Dinner was a tasty introduction to Portuguese cod dishes & the Fado performance was wonderful & memorable. Highly recommend.

Certainly authentic ... but ... - Pedro was waiting outside our hotel. He sent me a WhatsApp earlier in the day and I didn't see it. I kept looking for a text or phone call. Europeans really like WhatsApp and seen to expect everyone else does, too! 😆 It appears we were the only guests in this car. Nobody else signed up? Questions ... But I didn't ask. Pedro was charming and maybe we'd be part of a group later. He took us on a short tour of the Alfama district, which was great. Then he took us to Guitarras de Lisbon, introduced us to Antonio, asked us to WhatsApp him when we were ready to leave. Then he left. First surprise. I swear I got something from Viator saying something about the Hard Rock Cafe. This wasn't the Hard Rock Cafe, but it was certainly 'authentic'. So, whatever ... We were at a table separated across the room from the 2 other couples and a rather large party. Next surprise. We were the only people on this tour and evidently going to be left on our own. Antonio brought one small bottle of water and bread/olives. Another couple came in . They were seated close to the other couples already there, given menus and two bottles of water . After another 20 minutes of being ignored, I walked into the kitchen to get menus, more water and wine. Next surprise. It seems we came to this tour with a "fixed" menu and he (not Antonio and I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was JUST ABOUT TO COME OVER AND EXPLAIN IT ALL TO US. It consisted of 3 versions of salt cod. I asked for a menu twice, we finally got more water and a really cheap bottle of wine (2.75€). I ordered a mushroom starter, a pitcher of sangria and a different main course (which was barely edible as was the "fixed" course choice my husband got. The soup was really good, though.) We paid for the extras. The Fada music was wonderful, and Antonio sang! I would love to compare my experience with the description on the web site -- but it is no longer there!! Why? I was not totally disappointed with this tour. Pedro was great. The Fada music was great. The food was ... lacking. What I am suggesting is a MUCH better description of what to expect. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Nice Introduction to Lisbon & Alfama! - We had a really good time! The Fado musicians and singers were GREAT! Personalized attention with city knowledge from a local resident (Thanks Pako!). The only reason we rated the tour a 4 is because it would have been much better during the day.

Good Alfama and Fado experience , great guide - We had an amazing guide in Pako, very knowledgeable about the city, life in Portugal and taking us to truly lovely spots around town, including Alfama. The diner with the Fado performance had many pluses and some minuses. Food was a good taste if what Portuguese cuisine had to offer but not excellent. The Fado performance was a very nice introduction to this art form. With some of the singers a bit more engaged with the audience as others. But I would still highly recommend it.

A terrible waste of money - The "tour" was a car ride in an old dirty car, the food was unremarkable, and the music was meh. One of the Fado "singers" could NOT sing. And he was also the cook, a waiter, and the owner apparently. It was a lot of money for nothing. Just book an Uber and a dinner at a real Fado restaurant and forget this scam...

Don’t go - The experience description does not at all match what you actually get. No walking tour of Alfama, terrible food, no music bands…one singer with 2 guitar players in jeans. Not held in a true restaurant, more like trying to cram 20 people into a residential dining room. It hot and stuffy. Another couple from our hotel was there and they agreed. Very bad experience.
