Kissed by the sun, Swayed by the hills, Engulfed by the beaches and Touched by the warmth of our tour guides - Had the most memorable experience in Portugal, all thanks to Andrew and Pedro from LookAroundTours! The drive through Arrábida was beautiful — made even more glorious with the special Jeep driven by Andrew himself! We loved the experience so much that it has compelled me to write my very first review on Viator. Trip Overview: We started with Pedro picking us up from our stay at 10 AM. Typical Pedro — he greeted us with a smile and a warmth that instantly touched our hearts. Our short trip to one of the oldest churches in the Arrábida region, on the hilltop, was filled with spontaneous laughter and banter, all thanks to Pedro. On reaching there, we saw the church adorned with thousands of tiles. We danced with the locals to medieval tunes — and then thunder, in the form of Andrew, struck us! Andrew arrived in his white Jeep, greeted us with enthusiasm, and drove us to the top of the hill where the views were amazing. Then, through the thick jungle with cork trees, he took us down to the coast of Portinho da Arrábida. The emerald-coloured water surrounding the beach was a mesmerising sight to see. The sun was hot, the sea was ice cold — what a day it was, dipping our toes in the chilled waters of the bay and having lunch on the beach! Andrew was kind enough to speak to the chef and prepare a special vegetarian meal for us. We sang songs on the way back and gave Andrew a bit of Indian and Arabic music mix — it stuck in his head! We visited the shrine of the fishermen in a small cave on the cliff; it felt like watching something out of a Hollywood horror movie. We drove through the city of São Lourenço and visited the last site of our tour — a tile factory. The 30-minute walkthrough took us through the evolution of tile design and made us feel like we were experts in making tiles (self-proclaimed 😉). We ended the trip with Pedro giving us a treat — the world-famous Tum Tum (not sure what it’s actually called, but that’s the name we gave it!). And off we went on our last journey of the day — back to the hotel with our VIP escort, Mr. Pedro, and his humour. He showed us how locals drive through narrow lanes and still reach back safely.

Top-Notch Experience - From start to finish, Rui exceeded all expectations. He was incredibly engaging, approachable and praised for his deep knowledge of the region. He knows his stuff inside and out—history, culture, landscapes and the best-hidden gems that you’d otherwise miss and his passion for the area was truly contagious. We left with a much richer understanding of the region and a long list of memories we’ll treasure. Highly, highly recommend to anyone considering a guided tour here. If you’re lucky enough to have Rui as your guide, you’re in for a superb day.

💚 - Very accommodating. Our flight was cancelled and we couldn't get out until the next day so Raphael offered to still take us on the trip but later in the day. Knowledgeable, easy going and a real advocate for Lisbon. We missed the market due to our later start time but we enjoyed the castle, the beach, the cave and especially the drive through the oak trees. You won't regret doing this trip. It made such a difference to see more than just the city 💚

A most and must do wonderful adventure into the real Portugal! - This was a truly amazing experience We had Rui and he was an engaged., knowledgeable guide that we actually enjoyed sharing our lunch at the beautiful location where he took us. He explained the food (delicious) and was a delight. The Market was an experience in itself. Clean and so much variety and life! We bought bread and goodies and it was delicious. We also stopped at a tile “factory” but actually it was a down to earth, beautiful, shop / workshop where Rui gave us a hands on demonstration. What a treat to see the artists at work and see their final products and its journey. We shipped som of their beautiful art home. The vistas and nature go without saying. A must see adventure. Do it. Worth every penny!

The Best Tour Ever! - This was my first time to Portugal. Sisempra seemed boring until Andre took me through all the back roads. I was pleasantly surprised at my experience. We stopped at a 9th Century Moorish Castle and a stunningly beautiful blue tiled church. Continuing on the back roads through acres of ancient cork oaks, Andre stopped to pick some tree strawberries I never knew existed. Andre was a true nature scientist who knew all about the topography and history of the region. We continued through beautiful farms and vineyards and around the South side of Arrabica to a quaint seaside village near the Oceanarium. Next we stopped for a short hike down to a sea cave shrine commemorating the passing of two local fishermen who were caught in some rogue waves. We climbed up by car over beautiful scenic mountains I never knew existed in Portugal including the highest limestone mountain in Europe that was shaped like a wave. The whole trip I will remember for a lifetime.

Wonderful Trip, Smooth Communication - I booked this trip for my parents, who are coming from China and visiting me in Costa. The whole experience is excellent. Communication from beginning to end is very smooth and Antonio is very friendly, thoughtful, trustworthy and knowledgeable about the Seisimbra region, his hometown. Even though my parents could not speak English and needed to communicate through ChatGPT and translation apps, they told me that they were genuinely happy with the trip -- the sea view was truly amazing for them, who have been travelling in Portugal and Spain for quite some places. And the Arrabida mountain stops are very thoughtful. The introduction to the local restaurant is highly appreciated...Overall - highly recommended for people who want to enough a trip blending forest, mountain and sea views.

Fab experience - We had the most amazing tim on this experience with Antonio. He was at our hotel ahead of time to meet us and after arriving at the jeep we got going. It was so much fun and a wild bumpy journey to the first spot. He's so knowledgeable about the history of the spots and is very relaxed about us taking our time to enjoy it to the max. At the beach stop he made food and drink recommendations and even had a blanket and umbrella for us to use on the beach. We booked as a surprise for our friends birthday and she said its the best birthday she's had and couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the day!

Fantastic day out for the family! Not only do you see the best sights in the region, but you learn about it too… - Our family loved the day out. Our tour guide, Andre, was exceptionally knowledgeable - one of the friendliest and most genuine people you’ll meet. Nothing was too much. Myself and my family learnt so much about the region over the 6 hours we spent with Andre. He’s a gem and I’ll definitely be booking a trip with him again when we visit next year. Make sure you take your swimming gear so you get to make the most of the beautiful beach he’ll take you to. This is a great part of Portugal and was made even more special by Andre.
