A Warm Welcome to History

Upon arriving at the Bomber Command Centre, I was immediately struck by the warmth and enthusiasm of the staff. As a former university professor of European history, I have visited countless historical sites, but the genuine passion of the volunteers here was truly remarkable. A cheerful gentleman greeted us at the door, setting a welcoming tone for the day. The reception staff were equally enthusiastic, eager to share their knowledge and guide us through the day’s offerings.

Our first stop was the Hub Café, a bright and inviting space where we enjoyed a refreshing coffee. The café’s atmosphere was as pleasant as its menu, offering a delightful range of locally sourced food and drink. The young staff members were attentive and efficient, ensuring our experience was both enjoyable and relaxing.

Refreshed and ready, we joined a guided tour led by a knowledgeable gentleman whose expertise brought the history of Bomber Command to life.
