A chance to reflect and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom - This International Bomber Museum is long overdue and it has taken too long for these brave airmen to be recognised and all those involved. A great setting in the heart of Bomber county and the spire is a very poignant memorable being the height of the wingspan of a Lancaster. The exhibition I found to be a bit disjointed but the stories from those involved added life and texture to the story. I felt the memorable ribbon of memorial stones should be for those involved but I can understand that as all funding is from donations and ticket sales I understand the need to raise funds. The walking tour of the site was very informative. The poppies, I felt were not best positioned for visitors to experience but I understand that it links the site with the cathedral.

Memorial Visit and Tour - This is a ‘Must visit’ for anyone in or visiting Lincoln. Very informative tour, great cafe, lovely gardens, very moving memorial.

A wonderful experience for 3 generations of our family - We took our grandchildren who were visiting from Singapore. They love to learn about anything British. Where Mum and Dad were born. Historical things. This was perfect for them. History but presented in such a good way. They were particularly fascinated by the videos of people, especially children, talking about their experiences during the war. Being sent to the country, what they did to help, what their jobs were. You could spend all day there. The current display of ceramic poppies in the shape of an airplane was excellent too.

Good place to visit when in the area - An interesting place telling the story of allied bombing in WWII. Informative free tour included. Hands on exhibits in the museum, suitable for children and adults. Good views of Lincoln from the memorial grounds.

Quiet place to remember all those who served. - Great tour with Barry W, very informative.
Its a lovely place to remember all those who served with Bomber Command who finally get the recognition they deserve. Nice cafe with good food at affordable prices. Brilliant view of Lincoln Cathedral over the poppy display.

- Small site but welcoming, inspiring, beautiful and worth a visit. The Spire alone is worth the (small) parking charge. Cafe excellent. Worth doing the free tour and our guide Steve Baldwin was excellent.

A Memorable Visit - Bomber Command tells the stories of pilots who flew in WW2 and details some of the missions and experiences of those incredibly brave men and boys - many were only in their early 20s.
The memorial spire is as tall as the wingspan of the Lancaster that flew hundreds of missions from the IBCC throughout WW2. The pathway leading up to the spire is lined with plaques in remembrance of those who died. It's a very poignant experience and reminds us of the bravery of those men, and also the fact that they must never be forgotten.
On a brighter note, there is a very good café which allows well-behaved dogs.
I definitely recommend a visit to IBCC and if you go before the middle of August, you can see the poppy display outside which is a tribute to the Lancaster bomber. When the display is taken out, the ceramic poppies are available to buy.
