The National Park permits a 2-hour window on the beach to witness the turtles’ nesting ritual. This event occurs between 8pm to 10pm or from 10pm to 12am; the exact timing is determined by the National Park Authorities. All attendees are required to be present at our office by 5pm on the day of the excursion to receive their designated time slot and complete the attendance record.

Tortuguero serves as a crucial breeding ground for Caribbean sea turtles. Experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of turtle nesting on this tour. Participate in this privileged event and witness a turtle lay eggs. Owing to the stringent regulations of the National Park, this tour has certain restrictions to prevent any disturbances to the turtles.
This extraordinary phenomenon can be viewed in Tortuguero from July through October every year. The tour occurs at nightfall and typically spans about three hours.
The tour commences at our office, and from here, we proceed on foot to the beach section designated for us to await a turtle sighting. Even under rainfall, the tour goes on as planned and can’t be rescheduled for a subsequent date.
What should you wear?
Dark clothing (mandatory), closed footwear, a flashlight, and rain gear.
Keep in mind, photographing and video recording are strictly prohibited (Regulations forbid the use of electronic gadgets on the beach, such as mobile phones, smartwatches, cameras, tablets, among others).
