Fantastic exhibition and museum. A Limerick gem - I visited the Ride a Flying fish exhibition yesterday with my 8 year old son and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It is so well done. The VR is superb. So realistic and amazing. It took us through the 3 parts of the Garden of Earthly delights. We then viewed all the wonderful posters and information and videos about the exhibition. It was really interesting and highly informative. We also visited the museum and used the age appropriate discovery activities for my son. It was really enjoyable and we would highly recommend this exhibition and attending the museum. The staff are very helpful. It’s not our first time at the museum and we look forward to attending again. Such a special museum to have on our doorstep in Limerick .

Small gem of a museum - This museum is the collection of the Hunt (John and Geraldine) family and has displays dating from Stone Age to more modern times. Located across 3 floors you start on the top floor and work your way down. There is a one way system in place and everything is well laid out. The Treasury on the bottom floor was a personal highlight. On the bottom floor there is also a Wild Atlantic Way exhibit current on display. This is a series of paintings by Irish artists that start on scenes from Donegal and finish with Kinsale. The combo ticket to include this exhibition is €12.50 and is certainly worth it. I booked ticket on line but you could pay on arrival. Finally there is a cafe and gift shop to enjoy.

The Hunt Museum - A great collection of varied treasures laid out well. Size of museum perfect - big enough without being overwhelming. An excellent curator on hand to impart nuggets of information and to answer questions. The building itself is lovely too and of historical interest.

A Family Collection, Nothing More - The museum displays a great number of artifacts collected by the Hunt Family, but it is a relatively small collection compared to those found in larger Irish museums. It would be of some interest if you have not visited other museums, but if you have toured widely, you will not find anything unique.
