• Huaca Pucllana - Make a brief stop to admire Lima’s renowned solid pyramid, a ceremonial site for the Lima culture from 200 to 700 AD. The site is viewed from the outside, without a full tour.
• Plaza San Martin - The first stop in the historic city-center segment of the tour. Here, visitors honor one of Peru’s most celebrated liberators, Jose de San Martin.
• Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - Spend a few moments in Lima’s vibrant heart. The Plaza de Armas hosts the Presidential Palace, Arch Bishop’s Palace, Cathedral, and Municipal buildings, often bustling with people and entertainment.
• Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas - Known as the St. Francis Monastery in English, this church and convent were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991. The convent is observed from the outside, with a chance to step into the church. A full tour of the Convent and Catacombs is not included in this overview itinerary.
• Parque El Olivar - On the return from Lima, pass through Parque de Olivar to see a 400+ year-old olive grove nestled in the modern neighborhood of San Isidro.
• Playa Chorrillos - Explore a unique fisherman’s market where local fishermen bring in their daily catch. Browse the fish market and enjoy the vibrant views of the colorful fishing boats lining Chorrillos Bay.
• Barranco - Conclude the day with a stroll through Barranco, famous for its bohemian culture and festivities. Filled with street vendors, musicians, and performers, it offers a distinct atmosphere compared to other districts visited. Noteworthy are the bright and colorful graffiti artworks along the way.
