Great activity with Fancy! - We met Fancy at the Lijiang Elephant Hill Market and she showed us all the interesting products in the market. Afterwards, we cooked three amazing dishes. Fancy was always telling us very interesting facts and stories.

A Must-Try Cooking Class & Bakery Experience in Lijiang! - My Australian friend told me that if I visit Lijiang, I must experience Fancy’s cooking class. Not only does it offer a deep dive into the local market culture and the vibrant daily life, but it also lets you enjoy the dishes you cook yourself, including rice noodles and two other delicious dishes. At first, I thought it might be just like other food tours I’ve taken in different countries—ending in a rush. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Not only did I happily cook three dishes, but I also ended up buying a whole bunch of croissants and baked goods from her shop Luxi Bakery.
Fancy is the most knowledgeable and joyful host I’ve ever met. Her cooking class and Lu Xi Bakery are must-visit spots in Lijiang! You won’t regret it.

The Ghost Chicken was refreshing! - Fancy's class was an absolute delight! I loved that we started at the market. It gave us a peek of the local scene (no tourists at all); we got to interact with vendors; sampled some delicacies; and learned about TCM.
The studio kitchen was the cutest. It was fully equipped with everything needed for the class. The dishes were simple to make and Fancy's anecdotes made the them extra remarkable. I will surely re-make the Ghost Chicken when I get home.
Their croissanterie was lovely, as well. I strongly recommend giving this class a shot.

A Delightful Experience of Market Visit and Naxi Cuisine - Our family of four were excited to join this Lijiang Naxi Cuisine Cooking class and market visit on our first visit to Lijiang. Fancy spoke impeccable English, courteous and shared a wealth of her knowledge on the local produce and the use of the ingredients in local Naxi cuisine. The market visit was interesting and we were especially fascinated with the various dried mushrooms and chinese herbs harvested in the local area for sale. Preparing some local Naxi cuisine which we had never tried before and savouring them afterwards was truly enjoyable. There was also a lovely courtyard outside the cooking school which we could sit back and relax after our meal. Fancy and her pastry chef husband also own a french cafe/bakery next door that sells the most delectable french pastries. Thank you, Fancy for a lovely day!

Delightful cooking class and market visit in Lijiang - This was such a lovely experience. Fancy is a personable and knowledgeable guide, fluent in English and French. The market visit itself was a great highlight of our Yunnan trip, but it was the cooking class and lunch in her lovely home kitchen, shared with her husband’s French bakery that really made it special. Fancy is an engaging and patient teacher. We ate our lunch al fresco with delicious local fruits and the smell of fresh coffee and croissants in the air. We’d recommend her for anyone with an interest in ethnic cuisine and meeting locals.

A Must Do Experience - This experience will truly be one to remember. Certainly one of our favourites since we’ve been in China.
When looking for activities, we were hoping to find an authentic experience and this was definitely it.
Fancy was very knowledgable, friendly and a wonderful host. She firstly gave us a tour of the local market to buy our ingredients and treated us to a local snack en route whilst telling us lots of info about the market. We then enjoyed an amazing cooking class in which the food was so fresh, delicious and overall brilliant!! We then all ate our creations together in Fancy’s gorgeous garden next to her French bakery which was also amazing!
A definite must do if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not- it’s worth the travel just for this experience!!)
Thank you Fancy!! You’ve played a big part in making our first trip to China very special.

Fantastic market tour, cooking class and eating experience! - We had a wonderful day with Fancy. It started off with a fascinating trip around a large food market - frequented by locals and not on the tourist trail - which was super interesting. We loved seeing all the vegetables, spices, fungi, traditional Chinese medicine, meats (and livestock!).
The cooking class back at Fancy’s lovely home was great. We made three delicious dishes, easy to make but fantastic in flavour. It was also the mid-autumn festival, so we also tried some traditional ‘moon cake’. The fruit tea Fancy made for us was also extremely tasty.
Fancy’s home is also a 15 minute walk from the Black Dragon Pool, so it was very convenient to walk there afterwards for a visit
Thank you Fancy for a perfect day.

Amazing. Must do. - 1 million miles travelling the world to all sorts of places and i can tell you tourists and fellow viators this is worth every penny.
Fancy is an amazing woman with an amazing bakery. She is doing this out of passion and it is one of the highlights of our lijiang trip.
I AM not a paid bot, commercial dude or vlogger. But my wife was amazed by her.
There is abit of issue with the booking and meeting place but otherwise perfect.

Cooking with a Chinese girl. - During a trip to China in the Yunan with my daughter, I wanted to learn how to cook Chinese. It was successful. With the chef, we first went shopping at the local Point of Sale. The first stop is a cake stand, breakfast of the Chinese. Very good. Then we left for an exciting 1h30 guided tour: from medicinal herbs (there are 400), to mushrooms that abound in September through lacquered ducks, tropical fruits, local charcuterie etc. Together we made a starter of lemon chickens, vegetable noodles and a delicious mango-coconut desert. You will know all the secrets of Chinese cuisine;) icing on the cake, the chef speaks perfectly French.
