  • Rincon De La Vieja Volcano National Park - Guests will be greeted by a naturalist guide at the Operations Center and embark on a 30-minute drive in one of our comfortable minivans to the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park. The tour includes the entrance fee to this incredible protected area. Participants will hike the main trail for approximately two and a half hours, offering opportunities to observe wildlife, experience the enchanting forest, and marvel at various volcanic features, such as boiling volcanic mud, fumaroles, and the little volcano. After exploring this remarkable National Park, guests will enjoy a snack before returning to the Operations Center on a 30-minute ride.

Join us for an exciting guided hike in the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park! Upon arrival at our adventure center, we’ll embark on a 25-minute drive to the park’s edge. There, your guide will introduce you to this remarkable natural area, recognized as a World Natural Heritage site by UNESCO in 2005. The park features one of Costa Rica’s most active volcanoes!

During the hike, we’ll traverse an accessible trail through the forest, uncovering various natural wonders such as giant strangler ficus trees, a seasonal waterfall, the “little volcano,” smoking fumaroles, and the renowned boiling mud pots, also known as “Las Pailas.” Be on the lookout for local wildlife including armadillos, collared peccaries, black iguanas, boa constrictors, white-nosed coatis, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, spider monkeys, toucans, and tapirs.

The trail spans 2.5 miles (3.5 km) and will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete.

Our Adventure Center is located 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the Pan-American Highwayon the main road to the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. We have plenty of parking spots, an open bar & restaurant and a refreshing swimming pool for all our guests.
