Additional Information

Join us for a 6-hour expedition to Trollstigen, the intriguing Land of Trolls.

Starting from Ålesund, the bus will guide you through the quaint Norwegian villages en route to the Land of Trolls. Our first halt is at Kokarsteinen, situated right above a picturesque fiord. From there, we will cut through the Sjoholt village, notable for its wood industry and furniture, and Valldal, renowned for its delicious strawberries.
Following that, Gubrandsjuvet is our next destination. Here you can traverse a bridge passing over a ravine that’s 5 meters wide and 20 - 25 meters high. Subsequently, our warm and cosy bus will transport you to Trollstigen, providing a majestic view of the natural terrain and a remarkable mountain road featuring eleven sharp bends. As we navigate this road, an additional photo stop will be at Stigefossen, an imposing waterfall boasting a total height of 240 meters. The final stop is at Trollvegen (the Troll Wall), celebrated as Europe’s highest vertical rock surface. With these unforgettable sights recorded, the bus will take a round through Åndalsnes before returning to Ålesund.

Amazing place - Tour was amazing. Tour guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. Visited places were breathtaking. The only meeting point was unclear and stressful. The freshly painted orange building is very visible but roster building invisible after leaving ship. Please provide walking map.

Waterfalls, vistas and strawberries - Cristina was a fun and intelligent guide for us. Unfortunately the Trollstigen was closed due to danger of rock slides but the trip was well worth it. The views along the way and overlooking the valley and waterfall were breathtaking. We stopped for freshly picked strawberries in Valldal. Such a treat.

Troll Rod Excursion - Lars and Hans did a great job on our tour. We had an appropriate amount of time at each stop. Lars shared a lot of great information about Norway. I did think that this tour was stopping at the Rose church and we didn't. That was a bit disappointing. We got back in time to see some of Alesund and do some shopping too.

Great trip but dirty hot bus - This trip was very interesting and a lot of fun. My only complaint was that the bus was really dirty and did not have working air conditioning. This was an unusually hot day in Norway which made it worse. Everyone was complaining about the heat and we did receive a replacement bus for the last hour of the tour for the return trip. In reference to the condition of the bus, my husband pulled down two trays in front of him and they were filthy. They even had old fingernail clippings on them - so very disgusting! It was obvious that the bus had not been cleaned in a very long time. The windows were so dirty you could not even see out of them. A bit disappointing. This bus should not have been put out on the road prior to being cleaned and properly serviced. All in all the tour itself was very interesting and very beautiful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of Norwegian history. We knew ahead of time that part of the road was closed and we would not be able to see the troll wall and some extra stops were added to compensate for this.

Good trip even in bad weather - Good trip although the weather was very cold. On a less cloudy day, the view would have been spectacular but it wasn't the tour operator's fault.

Scenic Tour - The troll road was closed when we went, but it was still scenic and a couple of photo op stops. The one bathroom stop, you either needed to choose to use the restroom or purchase something. Not enough time to do both.

Great tour but don’t expect a bathroom on board - Great tour with awesome stops. Guide provided good insight. The bus had a bathroom but it was locked it out of service and made for a long bus ride back (2 hours). Maybe if they switched up the stops it wouldn’t have been such a brutal ride back.

Bad weather… wish it was different - Unfortunately when we went on this tour the road was closed. The clouds were so heavy in that area that you could not see a thing. Since this was the case I wish the tour company would have made additional stops at dons of the viewpoint areas on the way back. These areas were not covered in clouds and looked beautiful. Several people on the tour said this should have been the case. We drove on a bus for four hours without seeing anything.
