A gem of an experience - My family had a wonderful time with Giuseppe and the people at Cantine Salvatore D'Amico. Before we started our "capers" tour, Giuseppe picked us up at our hotel and took us on a tour of the island (which we had booked in addition to our "capers" tour). As a host and guide, Giuseppe is kind, generous, knowledgeable, and funny. On the island we stopped at at landmarks, scenic views, and vineyards - learning about the land, its history, culture, and people. At the Cantine we first visited the fields, where we touched and smelled capers (and wild fennel), learning about the cultivation and farming process. Back at the Cantine (workshop), we first went to the wine cellar and learned about the local wines and their production, after which the excellent food-tasting began. There was a variety of caper-spreads on bruschette, caponata, cheeses (including fresh ricotta), cookies (that had just come out of the oven) - and, of course, local wines. Recipes were generously shared - there was plenty of laughter - and we were even read a short story about one of the wines we had. Time went fast and we were sad when our time ended. We'll do it again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a considerate, authentic, and caring way to experience Salina and its foods and wines, this is the tour you should take. It's a gem of a memory.

Fantastic private tour experience - We had a fantastic private caper tour with Giuseppe today, enjoying a comprehensive tour of a number of the villages on Salina before a delicious caper and wine tasting experience. We learnt so much about the island and could not have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Salina who wants to learn more about the island and it's gastronomy - many thanks Giuseppe for a very enjoyable tour!

Beautiful slow food capers tour - We had such a great time tasting local capers, cheese and wine! This tour was one of our favourite highlights of our time in Salina. Giuseppe is a very generous and caring host and it's clear he's very passionate about the slow food movement. He gave us a unique glimpse into island life that we didn't get elsewhere. He even offered to drop us off at our accommodation at the end of the evening and tips for good places to eat/visit for the rest of our trip. Grazie mille Giuseppe!

An immersion in the "therapeutic" and relaxing greenery of Salina - there is much more besides capers - Among the green hills of Valdichiesa and Leni, Giuseppe accompanied us on a fascinating journey to discover the world of capers, bees and the lush vegetation of Salina. He guided us through the most beautiful and evocative corners of the island, revealing the secrets of collecting the precious >>green gold<

Wonderful experience of Salina - We loved this experience. Giuseppe was a superb host - who shared his knowledge and love for the bounty of Salina. We learned about the producing of capers and the delicious wines of Salina. We had great tastings of both. This was a memorable day as it was also my birthday! And made it all the more special. Highly recommend
