Gurudwara Shri Datun Sahib Ji - Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib, nestled among Ladakh’s majestic mountains, holds deep significance for Sikhs and visitors. Situated on the Leh-Kargil Highway, this sacred site commemorates Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s visit, the founder of Sikhism, during his travels in the region.

Magnetic Hill - Magnetic Hill, a natural wonder in Leh, Ladakh, captivates visitors with its inexplicable phenomenon. Located on the Leh-Kargil-Baltik National Highway, this gravity-defying hill is famous for its optical illusion, where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity.

Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers - Sangam, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, is a mesmerizing natural spectacle showcasing Ladakh’s majestic landscape. About 30 kilometers from Leh, this sacred junction is a breathtaking sight where the turquoise Indus River merges with the milky white rapids of the Zanskar River.

The merging of these two mighty rivers creates a stunning contrast of colors and currents, with the clear blue waters of the Indus flowing gracefully alongside the frothy, glacial waters of the Zanskar. This harmonious blend is not only visually stunning but also holds cultural and spiritual significance for the people of Ladakh.

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La 17,582 ft. (127 km / 7-9 hrs)

Khardung La - After an early breakfast, check-out and head to Nubra Valley. The journey to Nubra Valley traverses the 11th highest motorable road in the world, the mighty Khardung La Pass (17,582 ft.). This pass is almost always shrouded in fog and snow, but the bone-chilling cold is more than compensated by the unparalleled view of the Ladakh mountain range. Descend from Khardung La to arrive in Nubra Valley.

Nubra Valley to Tso Pangong (13,943 ft.) via Shyok River (170 km / 7-9 hrs)

Pangong Tso - After an early breakfast, drive towards Tso Pangong 13,943 ft. via Shyok. This route passes through Agham – Shyok Village – Durbuk – Tangste to reach Pangong Tso. The first glimpse of the tranquil, azure blue waters and the shaky lakeshore of Tso Pangong remains etched in tourists’ memories.

The magic of Pangong Lake lies in its changing hues as the sun moves across the sky. It is likely the bluest and most crystal-clear lake you have ever seen. It is home to many migratory birds, including ducks, geese, and the rare Black-necked Crane. Surprisingly, the lake lies only partially in India, with a significant portion in China-occupied areas.

In winter, the entire lake freezes, allowing you to walk over it. Upon arrival, check-in at your accommodation and spend the evening strolling around the lake, soaking in the beautiful scenery.

Tso Pangong to Leh via Chang La 17,585 ft. (175 km / 7-8 hrs)

Hemis Monastery - Hemis Monastery, nestled in Ladakh’s serene mountains, is a treasure trove of Tibetan Buddhist culture and spirituality. Located about 45 kilometers southeast of Leh, this ancient monastery is renowned as one of the largest and wealthiest monastic institutions in the region.

Founded in the 17th century by Lama Stagsang Raspa, Hemis Monastery is dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, the revered figure credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet. The monastery’s architectural splendor, with its vibrant colors, ornate carvings, and traditional Tibetan motifs, reflects the region’s rich artistic heritage.

Thiksey Monastery - Thiksey Monastery, majestically perched on a hilltop overlooking the Indus Valley in Ladakh, is a magnificent testament to the region’s rich Buddhist heritage and spiritual legacy. Often referred to as “Little Potala” due to its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Tibet, this sprawling monastery is one of the largest and most iconic monastic complexes in Ladakh.

Founded in the 15th century by Lama Sherab Zangpo, Thiksey Monastery belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is dedicated to Maitreya, the future Buddha. Its whitewashed walls, golden stupas, and ornate rooftops stand out against the rugged Himalayan landscape, creating a mesmerizing sight for visitors.
