On the banks of the Grand River there is a large colony of\nTheophrastus palm trees, which give the region a sense of a tropical landscape. The river, forming a small lake, 500m long, before emptying into the sea, has water all year round. You can walk along the river, under the shade of palm trees and other trees, and start ascending in the beautiful canyon. \nAt the exit of the river, a sandy beach with pebbles and sand is formed, with sea water being very cool due to the river. In the eastern part of the beach, there is a beautiful rock reminding of a heart. The beach is not well organized because the area is protected, without\nany umbrellas.\nPlease note that Rubbish disposal and taking seashells from the Beach is strictly prohibited\nPlease note that Boat Ticket is not included and is paid on the spot in cash

Our driving to/from Preveli Palm beach took longer than the stay - it was worth of it! - I love that beach! Not too easy to reach (for example from Hersonissos over 2 hours driving by car) and then you have to use steps up and down but it is not too long walking. If you enjoy views on the road - mountains, sea from the top of some mountain etc, superview to/from the beach, walking in a palm-park, swimming - worth to visit it! Also worth to know - there is a river where you can swim also (specially important in a case if a salty sea-water hurts your skin for some reason). The beach is sandy and the sand was really hot.
There are also available services like shower, restaurant etc. There are quite many people but I would not say it is overcrowded - sure if you prefer some beach to be alone then it is not for you but hard to expect any beach like this with a good asphalt road etc built just for you :)
P.S. Also some boat-trips are organized to this beach. We reached the beach at ca 13.00 and I think starting from 15.00 (can be wrong time) some big boats landed, took a group of people on board and left.

Route through the mountains - Route to the beach has to be done on foot by stairs in the mountain, about 15 min. Very beautiful landscape. One cannot actually see many palm trees, due to the dogs. Very clear water, but a little cooler. It goes all the way there, we cross the island through the mountainous area.
